Raptor 50 V2 NewBBB!
I will be ordering a Rap. 50 V2 with TT.50 engine. I need to decide which servos to get for this bird, i know the 401 gyro will come with its own servo. What about the rest?
I have a JR 6102 with R700 rx. I know i will need to get a larger rx batt. too. I just didnt want to buy different servos for each channel, all i need now is strength, reliabilty and value to learn with. Will the JR 537 digitals be enough? how about Hitec 645 MG's ?
thanks for the advise. B.

im not exactly knowledgeable on helis being a begginer, but from what ive read on here, those ttr 50 engines can be very hit and miss, with some being quite good, and other being absolute pigs..
i would get the os 50 or 50 hyper if you can budget it

Don't be afraid to mix & match servos (but use the all the same on the cyclic). It's almost all compatible. All the major brands will work with each other. I'm a JR fan myself, but went with Futaba servos because I've had servos go bad in the JR & Hitec lines. None have resulted in a crash, I was lucky. This doesn't mean Futabas won't go bad, it's just that as you get better at this, you'll see that you get strangely supersticious.
For a Raptor50, I'd recommend servos with more than 50 oz.in. of torque. There's lots of options out there, so do your homework on them. A couple of recommendations in the Futaba line are the S3050 digitals, and the S9202 digitals. Lots of guys in my area use them on their cyclic. I'm using the 3050's. They're a little bit of overkill, but who wants to take chances. The JR 537's WILL work, a friend of mine used them to learn on, but the response of mine next to his wasn't even close in comparison.
My tail servos is a JR 810g sport tail servo. It came with my JR G500T gyro. It works alright. I've also got a fut. GY 401 on a T-Rex. I like them both. Almost partial to the 401. I didn't get mine with the servo, though. Didn't need it for the T-Rex.
ALso, on the engine. The O.S. engine will be easier to tune and keep running well. I've still got the TT Pro 50 engine that came with mine, but I can't say I've got a lot of experience with it as I've only bench tested it. I put the O.S. 50 Hyper in mine. It's been good to me.
I edited the servo number. I had typed 3151 instead of 3050.

RE: Raptor 50 V2 NewBBB!
My raptor 50 has 9252 servos on cyclic and collective. My engine is a Hyper, too. If I were you, I would go for the OS engine over the TT. I hear horror stories about the TT engine... and I have seen it myself on the TT 39 engine.

Ditto the OS engine.
9252's are awesome but a bit pricey.
3151s are a bit small/weak on a 50 especially collective pitch.
9202 are a good priced mid range analog that will get the job done as well.
Hitech has some Karbonite digis that are pretty good, I think its the 6635 or something like that.
