Default Signal problem

hello, Today i went to fly my raptor 30,done the usual, turned on the radio then the receiver and the heli wasnt picking up any signal. the battery was fully charged. After turning both switches on and off several times it seemed to regain signal, done a range test and after 10 feet or so nothing again. I didnt trust things so i went home. Im using a Futaba 9ch and a 9 channel pcm receiver with a deans antenna. All the wires seem to be plugged in ok. Im not sure where i should look for this problem,Could someone help please Thanks

while I'm sure Many will disagree that is exactly why i refuse to fly Futaba any longer. I've had many of them just loose signal and crash out and Futaba's only answer was 'the ceramic filter was defective' not much consolation when you have a couple grand of bird buried up in the concrete. swapped to a JR system about 12 yrs ago, problem solved.

The first place I would start looking is the Deans antenna. It seems to be a hit and miss with those base load antennas. I read where people have had good luck with them and I have read where people have had nothing but problems. Personally myself, I leave the original antenna on the receiver and I have never had a problem. Buy or borrow another receiver and try it, that would be a good place to start.

Thanks for your advice,I think ill send the radio and receiver back to Futaba and have it checked out and put the regular antenna back on. I installed another radio and receiver tonight so i can still fly
