Hello,
My name is Jose Morais, I’m Brazilian and I need some help in purchasing a RC Heli. I’m a really noob. I know anything about RC Helis. I learn a little in the few days so I actually know that a 2ch heli only goes up and down and turn right or left. I already know that the 4ch heli goes forward/back but that’s it! I don’t know the difference from it to a 6ch heli or others.
I placed a very similar question on the RC Tank board. The deal is: I’m new at RC Helicopters and I’m looking for a cheap heli in order to have fun. I been checking the forum for sometime now and from what I checked I think that the Blade CX would be a good option (Although $200 is too high for me. I would prefer spend $ 100 at most). Money is an issue, and since I live in Brazil, the shipping charges to send a heli here is around $40 alone. So money is a critical issue.
So I’m interested in purchasing a Heli I but I'm worried about it. Here in Brazil I can't find too many vendors or support if my heli stops working. Since I have seen so many messages about problems (heat, broken blades, etc) I’m worried about not finding extra parts here.
Is it easy to fix a heli alone with spare parts (without technical support)? Also is it easy to find replacement parts in the net? How long a heli usually works before needing some assistance?
So considering what I have written above, which Heli should I buy? Which upgrades should I purchase in order to avoid problems? And which spare parts should I get?
Could you please help me?

I have checked and saw other options for a Heli: Walkera #4, Sky lame. Which one from this heli (plus Blade CX) should I get? I saw that the Walkera #4 is cheaper but as I told before my main concern is the support here in Brazil. So I need a reliable and easy to fix (or better hard to break) heli.
Thanks

The DF4 is quite robust. Buy 1 or two training gear when you buy it. One to use and one to cut up so you can use it if you break the stabilizer rod or landing gear or anything made of those cf rods. The tail motors are a bit of a problem. You could get some spares when you order the heli. It's really up to you. You could get a flight sim. FMS is great. It's freeware. Practice on that and you'll decrease your chances of crashing.

Here are some sites I looked around for. I can't read Portuguese very well so they might not be very relevant. They are all dragonfly 4. Easy to find.

THANKS!!!! I'll check all the sites! So the Dragonfly 4 is a good option? Better than the Blade CX?
Where I can find the FMS Simulator to download?
Thanks

How much this Heli (Dragonfly 4) cost in the US? From the sites that are selling it here in Brazil it costs around R$ 680 ( Around US$ 330) with a Li 1800mAh battery. Is it worth?
Thanks

Not sure. I haven't bought a lipo battery so I'm not sure how much. They are totaly different. cx is co-axil heli and df4 is single blade with tail motor. It's your choice.
FMS site

Look around on some of those sites I gave you for a cx.
My pleasure to help!

I have a walkera df4 and I can say it is very robust (long living). I haven't had a esky coco lama so I'm not sure what it can do. The df4 can fly quite high outside when there is no breeze.

of course, it won't worth thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat much. go www.hooobby.com and choose some better heli other than just-so-so dragonfly 4# at a more reasonable price. They ship to Brazil.

Could you please give some suggestions: I went to www.hooobby.com and saw that, for a similar price, they have the Walkera 22e, the Walkera 76 C and the Esky E004 Honey Bee2. I'm not really looking for co-axis helis because, from what I heard, they are really limited and I would probably be bored in no time, but for a similar price they also have Esky E004 Honey Bee2.
Remember I have NO experience with RC heli.
I almost gave up in purchasing the Blade CX because of its price. Almost twice the price of the other helis listed here...
Thanks

Probably not the 22e or the 76c because they have a tail motor which could cause hassles.
http://www.hooobby.com/dragongfly-36-rc-helicopter.html
This is a avdanced heli that a begginer could learn on. It is 3d capable so when you get more experienced you can do backflips and so on. The tail motor is driven by the main motor through a belt which won't burn out so fast. It will keep you entertained through your whole heli flying.

OK... Now I'm getting confused ..
There are too many options...I included the 76C to this list because it looks very similar to the Walkera 4. Would this means that the Walkera 4 is also a difficult heli for a beginner or I am missing something?
I included the 22E in the list because someone told me that it is a good heli for beginners and it also a 3D heli so I would keed it for a long time without the need to upgrade it too much.
Also, the Walkera 36 have a higher price than I would like to spend in the Heli. I'll have to pay around 60 bucks for shipping and around 60% in taxes. So This $180 heli would actually turn out to be a $350 heli... I would like to spend $140-$160 inclusing shipping, so this would means a $90-$110 heli.
Also, I'm considering (from what I learn here in the last few days) that the Co-axis helis are limited, but since I know nothing about RC helis, I don't really know !QUOT!how limited!QUOT! a co-axis heli is. Could someone give more information about this?
If I start with a co-axis heli I will probably start flying in 1 or 2 days. How long will it take for me if I start with a heli with tail motor (using a flight sim like FMS once per day for one hour)? One month before first flight?
My full range of options:
Co-Axis
- Blade CX (Little too expensive)
- Esky E012 LAMA-3 V3
- Esky E004 Honey Bee2
Rest:
- Walkera 004
- Walkera 76C
- Walkera 22E
- Walkera 36 (Little too expensive)
Sorry about so many questions but I would like to make sure I get the right heli for me since it is too difficult (and expensive) to purchase a RC heli here (like I said, around 60 bucks for shipping alone).
Thanks!!

About the 76c and the 22e I was meaning to say if you want 3d then you may as well spend the extra cash on a 36 or 60. Because the tail motors aren't that reliable. I have a dragonfly 4 and I am still flying it ou in my back yard. It's really up to you to decide what to get. Sorry for the confusion...

Thanks for your help! Like I told before I know nothing about RC Helis so I don't know the difference of the tail motor fo the 76C and 22E from the tail motor of the 4 or 36. That's the kind of information I need in order to choose my heli. Thanks!
I was about to choose the 76C, but from everything that was discussed here, I think I'll go with a Walkera 4. It looks very reliable and it looks like it gonna be easier to find spare parts for it. The 22E and 76C looks too difficult for a first time heli flyer. Also I think I'll have more trouble trying to find parts for the 76C than the 4.
Thanks
Jose Morais
