Hi all,
I've been setting up a shuttle I picked up used for the past couple days. I am at the point where I am running it up on the ground to make sure it is responding how it should be. My problem is that when I get to near half throttle, the heli starts spinning very quickly clockwise. I can correct with rudder somewhat but not really. I have a thunder tiger piezo gyro installed, with the aux (gain?) plugged into channel 5, and the ATV's set at -50, +50. Nither position of the landing gear switch (ch5) makes much of a difference.
I have no instructions for the gyro, and haven't been able to find any on the web. Can anyone help me out? Has anyone run into something like this?
Thanks!

Sounds like your gyro is reversed. Most gyros will have a switch on them for Normal and Reverse. Reverse yours from whatever setting it is on. If it sdoesn't have a switch then mount it upside down.

I love easy fixes. I flipped the switch and it stopped spinning, but my throttle to tail rotor mix is still way off, I need to use a lot of rudder to keep it straight when changing throttle position. I also have a feeling that I will need to do a lot of linkage adjusting, I needed a lot of right and forward cyclic trim to keep it from tipping over.

FuryFlyer, where are you? What club are you in (any)? I used to be a member of JCSF but let my membership lapse whem I moved to Perth Amboy. Send me an email at [email protected], or find me on MS Instant Messenger at [email protected], I would love to chat with you if you have the time! I have been flying fixed wing for a while but (as I'm sure you guessed) this is my first heli. I got too full of myself on Realflight and decided to take the plunge!
Thanks!
