Default hovering

got a question,
What is side in hovering, nose in hovering, tail in, ect?

when I hover I just try to keep my Blade CP from shooting off in any direction and hitting something/somebody

Also, what size is the Blade CP, I've heard numbers like 30, 300, 400, ect....

:-)

Thanks for the info

Blade_killer,

Side in hovering: That's when the heli's left side or right side is pointing towards you.

Nose in hovering: That's when the nose/front of the heli is pointing towards you.

Tail In: That's when the tail of the heli is pointing towards you. Best way to learn, that way all directions seem normal, if that makes sense? Forward, Backward, Left or Right.

Hitting something is okay, just cost $$$, just don't hit somebody, cut the throttle and crash, still cost $$$, but nobody gets hurt.

Size: The CP is in the catagory of a 300 size heli..The bigger the heli, the bigger the number. And vise-versa.

By your questions, I'm gonna guess your pretty new to the hobby, check out this site for Heli Flying. It's called Radd's School of Rotary Flight and will give you a lot of tips and training, follow it and you'll be amazed on how you progress.

Okay, thats a lot simpler then I thought it was going to be. Yes I am very new to RC helis and I got the Blade as my first helo and I'm starting to think a bigger, heaver helo would have been a better choice since they are more stable but it's too late now and I gotta learn with this, good thing I have no intrest in aerobatic flight, just scale flying.

I actually have that site (RADDS) bookmarked and have been reading it but untill I order my plastic blades I cant really do anything since my last set of wood blades are history (hit a propane tank and shatterd one) so I am waiting on the plastic ones to put RADDS to the test.

thanks for the info!

numbers you see catgorize engine size. Numbers in the hundreds usually are electric sizes. Blade is 300 size, trex 450 is 450 size, trex 600 is 600 size. Smaller numbers are usually nitro engines. Usually they have a dot (.) infront of them. Caliber 3 is .30 size, raptor 50 is .50 size, caliber 60 is .60 size and avant 90 is a .90 size. I think nitro engine size is cubic inches.

I learned on a Blade-CP and am glad I did. Once you can fly that little thing the bigger birds will be a breeze! The CP is also very cheap and easy to repair when you crash, and you will crash... At some point you will probably want to get a bigger heavier bird for flying in wind etc (I went from the Blade-CP to Falcon-3d to T-Rex 450SA), but the Blade-CP is not a bad starting point. Stick with cheap wood blades until you get good at flying, that way the blades will shatter/break and keep the head parts intact (most of the time!). I used cheap knock-off blades from helihobby.com when I had the blade, they were around $8.00 a pair.
