Hello guys,
I'm an aircraft experimented pilot and i'm interested to start flying helis. I did about 7.5 hours on ikarus aerofly pro deluxe and i'm wondering witch Heli is the best to begin. I want a Nitro heli that is very stable and flys well. I take a look at the Jr venture 30 CP, is it a good trainer ??
Thanks a lot,
Pierre-Luc

All JR helis are top of the line but parts arent cheap, depending on which part of the world your in. The two most important things are that you have easy access to get parts and that you put more money into your electronics (helis can be upgraded and changed out) but you want to have electronics and an engine that is good enough to use in other helis, should you want to change out your model somewhere down the line. Also it is these thing that determine how you heli is going to respond in the air. A good helicopter with bad electronics wont fly good but a cheap helicopter with good electronics and lots of power will get you far. But if you want a good heli with good equipment then this is better than everything mentioned above. Hope this helps. Just so its said, I use Futaba 401 Gyro on all my Helis because I know what it is good for. JR Gyros are very good as well. But if you dont have one of these or better than getting a good nitro heli setup is money wasted.

Not sure what is avaliable in CA but a Raptor 30 or 50 is cheaper to crash. I would say go 50 sized myself. The new Align 50 is coming out too.

The align 50 is going to be like 600 for the kit from what i have heard. That is without the motor or anything.
I went for the hawk pro with a os 37. It has insane pull out. Just as much as any .50 size at the field. Its parts are VERY low priced and the kit is 209 with a muffler. It comes in about 1 pound lighter than a raptor .30 and 1.5 pounds lighter than a raptor 50 from what i have seen. Plus it is SOOOOO stable!

I have said this before and I'll say it again. The first step is to get with somebody that will coach you thru the learning process. Once you have that the rest of the decisions are easy, just get the same thing your coach has. If your coach does not have a 30 or 50 sized helicopter, he can recommend one (who doesn't have at least one 50 sized heli?). He will most likely recommend one from the same manufacturer of what he's got, or recommend something that he's familiar with. His experience will be invaluable in your learning process.
