Okay, as some of you might know, I've given up on this blade CP and I am now looking for something FUN. So I'm in the mall and I spot what looks like a Dragonfly in a store, the man says it's a 4ch but it had no swashplate just a stif shaft, they want $50 for it. Is this something I should go buy, does it have FF? I have an Air Hogs Havoc and I know it only goes up and around and no FF unless you add weights, what about this dragonfly, does it have FF?
is it as manuverable as say a Blade CX?
thanks for your help guys!

i'd stay away from the 50 dollar specials, and just suck it up for a CX. maybe you can find one used on craigslist?
i've had great success buying used... but YMMV.
i'd suggest asking a friend to come with you, or a demo... to check out the machine before the transfer of cash.

If there is no swash, then no, it doesn't have ff without adding weights. I agree with yellow, just cough up the extra cash for a cx2 or something like it.

Well... it's a $50 chopper thats for sure. Looks like you could cough on it and break it.
If you're looking to downgrade from the CP Pro look no further than the CX2. Anything below that and you're slipping into the "toy" category. You'll be pretty disappointed by the performance of one of those Dragonflies I think. Sure it'll go up, down, forwards, backwards & spin but the real question is... how well? You have a Havoc so you know exactly how cheap these things can get. Don't get me wrong, I have a Havoc myself and it's probably the most fun "toy" I've ever owned.
The differences in performance between that $50 Dragonfly and a $150 CX2 aren't even comparable. The CX2 is a good value at that price and they perform GREAT once you've tweaked em a bit. CX2 will also survive impacts far FAR better than the Dragonfly and parts will be 100 times easier to get your hands on. Some will argue that the CX2 is a hit-or-miss item, but wouldn't that also be even more true of something cheaper? Personally I think that applies to everything you buy.
On my desk to the left of my monitor sit 3 of my choppers. AirHogz Havoc (hey, it counts!), Blade CX2 & Blade CP Pro. Guess which one gets flown the most. The CX2. Not because it's the best bird in my nest but because it's the most available. The Havoc is fun for dive bombing the cat & crashing into people that come over to watch basketball at my house and the CP Pro is great outside when the winds allow. But the CX2 is always ready to fly around the living/dining room & kitchen and on exceptionally calm days... out the back door & into the yard.
Bottom line is there's no comparison between that Dragonfly and a CX2 when maneuverability is desired. CX2 rocks!

I was hoping for a 4ch main and tail rotor as easy to fly as the CX, but I guess there isnt such a thing...looks like I'll have to get a coaxle.......My dads CX is pretty fun but not very realistic looking.......but fun.

That's just the nature of the beast. No such thing as a collective pitch heli that's as easy to fly as a CX/2. Not sure what you mean about realistic looking.
There are real coaxial helicopters in use, aside from the body they look pretty close to the CX. Look at the Kamov Ka-50-2 as just one example.

not interested in CP, I hate my Blade CP.....just hoping there was a 4ch FP heli as easy to fly as CX and look better.
I guess what I meant by realistic was a conventional heli, tail rotor/main rotor like an A-Star, Huey, ect

Wow that Russian copter is sweet looking. I want a body like that for my CX. Blade killer, get the CX and fly it around for a while then try the CP again when you have the CX down. You will be surprised that you will probably be able to actually hover it around. I know my buddy did the same thing you did when he couldn't fly the CP. He got a CX got good at it and then could actually fly the CP some. The CX is much easier to fly than the CP but it will teach you orientation and basic cheli controls. Good Luck

I fly my dads CX all the time, it's a nice chopper, easy to fly...I bought a Syma 300 Schweizer for fun and I think I'll get my own CX2 next.....the CP will either get it's 4-n-1 installed in the 300 for a frankencopter (if it will work) or sold for parts, or just shelved.......
