belt-cp is what i started on
it is an excellent heli except you break a lot of stuff at each crash
If you really want go for a trex 450 se v1 clone and make sure the metal parts are
high quality because
usually Belt-CP crash costs around $20 cause of broken plastic parts
my genuine align trex 450 SE V1 with CF blades usually cost me 10 bux or nothing at all
at each crash.
but align cost way too much and you also need the radio
Belt-CP is not bad
but rex 450 is cheaper in long shot

Cheap models I'm enjoying at this date are the Pro 2 and the King 3, these have issues as tail motor on the Pro 2 tho it does hold is tweaky, but enjoy its power tho brushed, the King 3 had a wobble but currently hovering it, take your time on these and less likely to have a crash, but suppose in the learning period its highly likely...
Still looking for the one that will be a step up, even checking out Swift..will see...<>..
Do the simulation...helps tremendously...BEST ..<..

You will get a mix of suggestions with this question so I will put in my two cents.
Of the two you mentioned I think the Belt is a better bird, but I am going to suggest the blue ray of the two. The main reason is parts. You will crash! If you have to order parts each time you are going to be grounded for a while. The blue ray is nearly 100% trex parts compatible. Every hobby store carries parts for the trex. I have not found a store yet that carries parts for the belt (at least in colorado). I have a 450 squadron which is the same as the blue ray. I love it and my new blue ray according to UPS should be delivered today
. Are they top of the line? No! Good beginner helis? Yes!
I do agree with the other posts that if you have the cash look at the trex. In the end it will be better. You might even look into copterx. There are a number of posts here of people who swear by them saying they rival the trex and some would say are better. Good quality, trex compatible parts, and good price. Save all that extra money for parts [
]
Just a word of advice. Take it apart when you get it and make sure all the screws have loctite. I speak from experience. It is not a pretty site seeing your heli dismantle itself in flight once a screw comes out. It's like a transformer, goes from beautiful heli to pile of trash in no time flat.

I have a CopterX, it is not as good quality as an Align Trex. However, I also don't think Align is all that great. If you want to invest in a nice heli in the 325 size go with a Rave, Beam, etc.

I can tell you that if you are serious about Heli's invest in a good transmitter ( i prefer the Spektrum DX7 Heli version) and purchase a 450 size heli. Dont purchase the heli with the transmitter and gyro because you will pay for junk. Purchase the bare minimum heli and add the better electronics from the get go. If you buy the complete set you will have a box of junk parts by the time you finish. I dont know about the Blue ray but i think XHeli sells it and thats where i purchased my Genesis. But like i said i changed the receiver and gyro and it flies great. Dont buy the axe cp v3 because it is unflyable as sold. Purchasing the DX7 allows you to buy receivers for each aircraft you purchase and bind them to the one transmitter (20 Model Memory) and you dont end up with a shelf full of transmitters. 1 for all models.
