I'm so mad
I Had my heli for about a 18 months and I was told it's a good idea to change your switch harness about every year or so for cheap insurance well last night I but a NEW Heavy duty switch in and about a half a tank flying inverted about 20ft up she goes nuts strait into the ground after looking at the wreckage my New switch had a bad solder joint cheap insurance it cost me $$$$
I guess I'll check more closely at my harness before installing them

so far I figure it's going cost me about $150+ I had a closer look at the switch I took the plastic cover off and the ground wire came lose it had a cold solder joint and it is a brand name switch. the joint must been good enough to pass test inspection but with a little vibes the joint failed as in my case a half a tank

I once bought a switch harness with the "expert" name on it. I did a range test at the field and it passed, then I did a range check with the engine running and it to passed. I shut it all down to refill my tank before I took it upstairs. Wouldn't you know it, I couldn't get it to turn back on. I only lost a days flying though.
