Default RE: Gyros on multiple channels?

Technically you could put a gyro on any rotating axis, so rudder and both cyclics could be done. Collective NO because it does not 'rotate'.

Now the question why ??? There is no need and there is nowhere on the beasts to mount the the extra gyro's. I find the real choppers easier to fly mainly because you can reference the ground easier for attitude.

If somehow you got a chopper that worked with the extra gyro's and you learned to hover fairly quickly you'd then want to remove them so it is controllable. Now what will you do with them???? If you want the chopper to be sluggish you can reduce the RPM and keep the control throws low.

Remember most of us learned to fly with one gyro, some did it with none because they had no choice. Just remember to be smooth and gentle on the sticks.

My motto has always been "fly the thing". If you want something that will fly itself, fly a free flight.

I flew without a gyro for about 12 years. I use one on the tail now and like the 401. It is a good system. You don't need anything to run the cyclic for you. It is a lot more fun flying the heli than watching it fly itself.
