Hey, I installed Real flight g2, and once I get to a certain point, it tells me that I must install direct x 8.1. I already have direct x 9, but didn't want to mess anything up, so I just clicked "ok" to install it now. Soon after, I got an error message, telling me that it's made an error and must be closed. I can go back through the process and it will do the same thing no matter what I click. It will let me click on run real flight, because I guess it made it that far in the install. Once I click on this, nothing happens. I go through the troubleshooting menus, and I shut down all tasks that will voluntarily close. (not force closing anything) so then, I go back and click on run real flight. It said that it's not fully installed, and it goes through an installation that's abou 600 megs. After this, it says exacly This:
Notice:
The joystick driver will now be automatically installed. Please make sure that the joystick is plugged in at this time. This process may take up to 45 seconds.
Soon after, I get this error message
Error: DIERR_UNPLUGGED
File L:\Kelib2\DDirectX\DXDirectInput.cpp
Line: 309
I don't know what the problem is, It seems to be with direct x. I went through the troubleshooting menu for direct x, and made sure everything tested ok, and it did. Anyone have the same problem or have any recomendations? thanks for any help.

What computer system are you running? Is it the G2 USB version? It sounds very similar to problem that I had while setting up G2. I was using windows98 and if you are as well let me know. If you are then the problem could revolve around the USB plugs in your computer. Real flight is picky and only seems to like the later USB port versions. Its certainly not a Directx prob.

Uninstall realflight, delete the folder it installed to, reinstall DX9, restart, reinstall but do not install DX8 when prompted, see if that works
