What is a therter? You can't make the wired version into wireless. Extending the wire may be an option, but the one it comes with is pretty long anyways. Good luck!

Yup, Im going for the R/C version.

I got a chance to see one of these fly last night....AWESOME.

Its REALLY stable, and flys great. Hovers hands free easily. Its fast on "tail rotor". Even though it doesnt have one. It uses a torque brake on the main rotor head to control heading.

Steve Rojecki landed it in the palm of his hand last night....his RIGHT hand. I cant wait to get mine. You could literally fly this thing anywhere.

I like it because its the first heli I've seen that I actually thought..."Hey, I could fly that"

Man, you cant go posting pics like that.....
Your gonna make me get dehydrated from drooling.

I cant wait to get mine.....I have to wait almost a month for it to get here. Everyones on backorder. Thats one awesome pic.....

Nice! The lama in its own environment. Looks like its crusing over the himalaya's heading towards the mountains to pick up a stranded climber.

Ive heard a couple of people say that the XRB is an indoor heli only. But obviously, you can take a trip outdoors with it. Im curious, how well does it handle being outdoors in the wind? I dont really plan on flying it outdoors, but it would be nice to be able to.

Im getting the silver edition one. Its got the gold painted exhaust. It looks good on there too. Even has a little exhaust temper coloring at the back end of the tailpipe.

you can fly it outside, but i would only fly on calm days, not recommended for wind. The Hornet Fixed pitch can't even handle the wind, XRB wont be able to steer in wind, I've tried it!

I figured as much. Since you've gotten a chance to put it through its paces, Ive got a few more questions.

If you give it full left or right, will it try to roll over, or does it stay level and just slip sideways faster.

What about full forward or back? Does it try to loop, or just fly straight faster.

I know its capable of ferris wheels, piroettes, etc. but can you do a maneuver that looks like a stall turn for a airplane? Not sure what the heli equivalent would be called. You know, pull the nose up, wait till it "stalls" kick the rudder (er tail rotor)around, and come back down? What are some other maneuvers you've been able to pull off?

One of the other guys on here mentioned a maneuver I would call the "Kiss n' Tail". Where he hovered it in front of him and kissed the tail.

I already made a landing pad for mine. Small piece of plywood painted dark grey, with a big white circle and "H" in the middle. I figured this would be better than landing on carpet and snagging a skid.

I use a black rubber mouse pad with a florecent orange Circle and an H painted on it. As far as manuvers are concerned, I dont get to nuts with it, but I imagine you can go nose up with enough forward speed, altitude and skill and spin the tail back around, but those type of manuvers may over stress the foam blades. I never give it enough Cyclic to roll the heli over, besides your dealing with a Coaxial Rotor system, which means if you get to crazy with it the top blades will hit the bottom blades in mid flight and break the blades, I know I've done it already, These helis are not designed for 3D aerobatics! I fly right to the top of my ceilings which are 21 ft vaulted ceilings and fly rapidly in circles and occasionally hover over the artificial flower arrangements, landing on furniture and such!

Yeah, Im not planning on doing any really wild 3D stuff, but I was just curious to know if it was capable of doing it.

You know helihobby.com has carbon fiber blades for the XRB....I might just have to order some of those. They are expensive, but would look BAD*** on it.

Im thinking about maybe later on molding a custom fuselage, and making a different tail. Maybe turn it into a micro hughes 500 or something.

Tape a incense stick to the bottom, so you could have a smoker system...LOL

Thats Cool, Just be carful not to add to much weight. I customized my XRB by putting 2 front seats and a control panel inside the Bubble, Stole the seats and panel out of a crappy micro Dragonfly V heli. Which worked out well, cause the XRB was a tiny bit tail heavy, so Instead of adding forward trim, I let the weight of the Front seats and control panel act as a nose weight. I even added tiny micro seat belts. Looks Cool............[8D]

You know the silver edition, comes with seats already in it. Sweet. Thats one of the things I really like about it is the Scale look. Its really detailed. I think there is a pic on helihobby.com, but its the tethered version.

Check these out....Ive got to get me a set of these rotor blades for it...
