Finally did my first loop today!! It was ugly but I did it!! Looked more like a climbing flip!! Now that I finally did it I need to work on being comfortable at all orientations!

Congrats! I never got further than hovering and forward flight and I know how tough that was...takes some guts to do this stuff..

Default Loop's are a kick

RS2K Congrats,

Now your really hooked. I did my first loops several months ago and will never forget the first one. I was at least five mistakes high. I wish you well and many happy landings.

I am at the point where I am ready to do my first aerobatics, I am just so afraid to do it. I can loop, roll, fly inverted, etc. on the sim, but in real life I just don't have the guts to try. What did you say to yourself to get ready to try the loop, and how do you know when it is time?
I can hover all day, do FFF, I can do figure 8's all over the sky, starting to do stall turns, and can fly nose in pretty good (with the training gear on). I feel I am ready, but just keep coming up with excuses why not to try (it's too windy, it's too sunny, it's not sunny enough - you get the picture).

Congratulations by the way on the loop, bet it felt good.

RS2K way to go ... I'm still working on figure eights. Wish I could get sim up and running.

the loop is the easiest after the stall turn. Simply put..

Get nice and high and straight and level forward flight. Pull back on the elevator. once the helicopter is traveling straightup start reducing pitch.

Once you get to the point of being inverted you should be at neutral on the pitch or even a little negative.

Keep holding the elevator stick back and when the helicopter start to come around just start adding pitch until it is level again.

Nothing to it, but remember to reduce the pitch, if you dont it will be really ugly....

your turning into a Helli junky i know because i did my first loop around 45 days ago on my rappy 30 and it was ugggggly!!!! I was in hover mode about 3 mistakes high had about 20 mph forward flight and pulled back on the stick. When I went inverted i got scared and pulled my collective to idle it slowed my rotation and almost stalled my blades it finally came around and the rotor heat started to pick up due to about 4 degrees of negative pitch i then gunned the throttle and recovered it looked like a cursive L after the shakes let up the smile started I don't back off so much on the throttle these days and stunt 1 oooohhh it will be your friend soon enough CONGRATS! ON YOUR LOOP!
