Default OS 70 Midrange Needle Setting Freya

I read a post about setting up this engine with the Midrange needle completely closed

I have 800 rpm indicated at fast idle (futaba govenor) 1 3/4 Main needle gives a rapid T/O and transition.

any lower idle gives a cut out on rapid throttle opening

New OS No 8 plug 10% Nitro

Where should I set the Midrange needle now - can I run with it closed ??

1 turn gave me cut outs

Head Speed set at 1500-1600 gives me a shake free ride

All these problems started with cut outs opening up from from fast descents (with lots of unpleasant low level downwind autos)

BTW I have 4 OS 30 Heli - OS 30 and 52 4 stroke
which I never have had to adjust more than one or two clicks between summer and winter for steady light smoke
