Default Bad luck!

OK, has anyone here just had a lot of bad luck with helicopter crashes? I just had 3 in a row! I have about 8 gallons on a 50 under my belt and only recently I have been having bad luck!

My first crash was a botched auto. OK, no big deal, a crash kit fixed that. Well 2 days later My tail gets stuck in the grass while I don't know it and upon trying to do a full speed climb out my helicopter is held by the tail and does a tail stand. I then lowered the collective and it plummets back down and tips over hard. My third one just happened about 2 hours ago and NOT 5 MINUTES after putting on BRAND NEW BLADES I loose complete control of the tail at 6 feet up and slam into the ground. Fortunately I have all the extra parts that I broke this time because I ordered spares of everything.

I'm afraid to fly it again after all my "luck."

Well, I did mine in a few weeks ago, but it was due for its anual inspection anyways.

Almost finished with the repairs, and a new radio is on the way. I hope to be flying again next week. Just before the real cold weather sets in.

Oww Dude, I feel your pain. I have been fairly lucky catching some things right before it would have been too late. But my times a coming as well I'm sure.

From tail pulley set screws to a wire breaking in my gyro harness. I spooled down and thought I seen something unusal with the tail. I pulled the insulation back in the front of the harness and yep it came completely in two. Usually I get that weird guy feeling and sometimes its right.
But odds are catching up to me.

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt (or should I say replacement parts). I know it's frustrating and you get to feel like an Indy or NASCAR pit crew in that you can tear down and repair the heli in no time. It happens to the best of flyers.

Try not to be afraid to fly again. It'll be OK. You'll probably hyper-vigilant to make sure nothing bad happens at first but then you'll start getting more comfortable and at ease with the machine again. Best thing is to get back on the horse and continue on.

Besides bad things always come in threes so you should be good to go now

Noooooo No problem flying again, I got over the cost aspect after my first crash with my 60. It was then that I realized that this was an expensive hobby and that I had two choices

1. Get over it and keep flying
2. Quit this hobby and take up a cheaper, no thrills, no challenge, boaring hobby......like flying planes

That is why I always jump in and let people know that this hobby WILL cost you, so if money is a problem, find another hobby.

tis' better to own then to dream

HAHAHAHA!! I love it! Even thought my heli is down and my planes are flyable, I'm just sitting around waiting for UPS!

Have you decided on selling that radio, yet? My current one only does a 40 foot range check any more. I don't really want to send it in for reapair because I changed the way my battery connects and I know they will change it back. I don't fell safe with the way the older futaba radio batterys fit. It almost cost me my heli once when the contacts didn't quite touch while hovering. So what I did was change it by taking out the old connecters and soldering on a heavy duty 9volt battery connector from radio shack.
