I have a HB CP2. Im thinking my next step will be Raptor 30v2. I havent even learned to hover yet, but i still need to save up ofr my next heli (14 yrs old. Takes time to save up this much) . I know the raptor 30v2 is good, but should i get it or a larger one. Is the 30 only good for a learning beginner. I need to know how much this will cost for the heli, engine, muffler, electronics, starting equipment, etc. Everything but gas. I know how to wrok with engines and tune them from my cars since I was 10. About how much does a complete kit cost, and if you could, please make a list of everything, with prices thanks. (If this isnt a good heli, tell me what is.)(I want to be nitro, for it seems electric cost so much more.)

Your best bet is to go to heliproz.com and figure out what you want to get prices. You can't beat a raptor 30. Put the 401 futaba gyro in it and its a great machine. You can get them new with engine and gyro, or just the kit, or just the heli and engine. There are lots of ways to do it.
If you want to save a buck, look in the used forums and find a good used one. There is nothing wrong with doing it that way. I got my first raptor 30 for less than half price. Got my first 60 for less than half price new with engine. You gotta be carefull. If you want help when you find one you want checked out, ask. Will be happy to help you out.

Raptor 30 with OS37 and a decent pipe is hard to beat,
Flys super smooth and with almost same power feel as my R50.
Makes a great starter machine and does 3D pretty darn well.

You might also want to consider a Kyosho Caliber 5 (i'm a little biased as I have one as my first nitro bird). They are $299 for the ARF and another $130 or so to get you a good 50 size engine. In the end, the price of the heli and engine is on par with a Raptor 30v2 and yet it is a 50 size so it will be something you won't have to replace anytime soon. Not that you would the Raptor 30 for that matter, but something to consider for sure.
Good luck on whatever you decide.

No offense to Derek but you really should avoid the ARFs.
First they aren't that hard to build. Also at some point you are going to have to fix it and it helps tremendously to know how it goes together in the first place.
One other thing Shorty, you really don't have to post the question in 5 different forums. One question in the appropriate forum will usually give you all the information you desire.
Ed, thats the same thing I told him, almost word for word in another thread with the same question.

Well thanks, but know Im changing my mind a bit after looking at other forums. This will be my second heli, so I would get the Raptor 50v2 instead, with the OS .50 engine. http://www4.mailordercentral.com/hel...mber=101450W50 Is this good? What about price? About right?

Yes, the prices seem great, and after browsing the webpage, they seem like a great company. I love the beginners page, and different kits.

While I am somewhat biased by owning 3 raptors,
I would look at what your local folks fly, and what your local shop stocks.
The "XX is an upgraded YY" or "This is better" have no bearing if you cannot get local setup assist or you break a small part and need to wait a week to get a replacement.
In my opinion, all the modern 30/50 size ships fly pretty darn good, and unless you are the next sponsored dude up and coming, better that anyone on their first or second heli can fly.
My local shop stocks Raptor, JT and Century. My instructor/friend runs raptors, so it was a pretty easy choice.
And if you want to have a heli to grow with and later thrash, yes to the 50

Ok good, unfortunatly I dont know of a Hobby Shop that has any heli parts. Maybe I can convince the owner, for he used to fly them and has helis on display.
