Default Sims...

Im thinking of getting a good sim. Realflight G2 is definitely the way to go according to almost everyone ive spoken too.

Ive been to their web site and seen the system requirements and for optimum they suggest:

Pentium 600, 32mb graphics card, 128 mb ram.

I have Amd 500, 16mb graphics and 128 mb ram.

What i want to know is, does anyone else have this configuration like me, and also have Realflight G2 and can tell that it will work well...?

Cheers all,
Andy

The RF G2 should be very compatible and up to date (Another thing you might want to do is go to your video card mauf.'s website and download the latest Non-Beta driver...to), but if you buy an older version:

With RF Deluxe:

-Windows ME-XP Home-XP Pro. I use XP Pro on my Realflight Deluxe I had to go onsite and download one patch (fix) for the self executable files to auto run-then one to fix a Direct Draw issue I installed the Deluxe disc 1-then the add ons and then appplied the patch very easy and the original disc called for Direct X 6..I am using DX 8 latest version. The GeForce Nvidia card work well as ATI it seems-VooDoo as well.. Whew..I use the GeForce3 TI, not the newest but it does almost as good as the G4 Nvidia cards.

oh high pc specs...so drooling somtimes....thats my second priority to my helicopter. I could make the best pc on the market for myself, that will be as future proof as they come with the amount im going to spend on my first heli and simulator and radio and all the other necessities roughly 1,200 euro/dollars.

BUT i wont... , not yet anyway, i just want enough so the simulator will work, then get practicing then get flying!!!!!

CHEERS,
ANDY

Realflight is great you will like it! It really helps, plus it can knock the rust off fingers that have been off the gimble a while to.

Are you using the Nvidia GeForce2 GTI? Great cards for the Sims,,,,,,,readily found for very very Little..I use to game some is only reason I updated to a on sale GeForce3 on sale.

I had realflight deluxe. not G2

GP said that the minamum was a p 200. I had that and it was not that good. It was a little on the slow side. It had a response delay of about 3 seconds. The point is that when GP says minimum they really mean minamum.

I recently got a 2.4 ghz computer and RF deluxe runs a lot better and faster. What a difference.

I have run G2 on a 433 celeron before I built my new system so I would guess the AMD 500 should cover it. G2 likes a decent video card so I would guess that would be the problem area. Of course a decent video card of at least 32mb with full 3D support. A geforce 2 mx 400 is own to about $30 US at most places and a GF4 MX440 about $75 US.
These are not my top picks for a killer gaming rig, but G2 loves them.
