mixing fuel question
For the X Cell gasser, do you guys recommand using premium gasoline? Does that affect performance? Price is not a factor since gasoline is like ten times cheaper than nitro. But I just wonder if different grades gasoline affect flight performance.
What kind of lubricants to use? I realize it's best to use synthetic oil, but where do you get those? Car shops?
How to you get the mixture right, the correct ratio I mean. Any tools/techniques?

mixing fuel question
Used to run a 23cc Zenoah in my 5th scale bugatti, is it the same in the x-cell?
Anyway, used to use Putoline 959 Synthetic mixed 5ltrs at a time (synthetic doesnt go off like castor) 4cc's to a litre so 20cc's to 5 litres at 25:1 (this is masses!!!!) you can go to 40:1 with this oil!
Add the oil first into a jug add fuel to 1ltr and stir pour into empty fuel can...
Then measure 4 more litres in the jug and stir each time then add to the output can...
This will remove any dregs of oil in the jug ensuring the most accurate mix...
Then shake the output can to thoroughly mix the final fuel oil mix...
Always shake before fueling as there can be some separation.

mixing fuel question
MonkeyDude. Many gasser people you ask will say Amsoil 100:1 synthetic oil mixed at between 60 and 80:1 ratios. You can buy these oils at a motorcycle shop, that sell Honda/Yamaha/Suzuki, etc. Also, they sell a plastic mixing funnel, that has all the desired ratios marked on the funnel. Premiun fuel has not proven to be an aide of any kind. Many gasser people run Ozark camper fuel(Coleman lantern fuel) which has an octane rating of between 50-60. Premium fuel is reserved for engines running high compression. Our gasser Zenoahs are low compression engines. Paul, look at your Yamalube bottle. The only Yamalube available here is semi-synthetic.

mixing fuel question
my experience is limited, but i tend to agree with rchelial. i was using kloz KL-300 synthetic in a camera ship, but now we are using amsoil 100to1 at 80 : 1 ratio.
regarding premium fuel, as far as i know there is no benefit to using it in the G-23 (don't know about other engines) because of the lower compression ratio. i believe miniature recommends against it actually.
BTW people, HELLO! i'm new here

Where can I get those Coleman fuel? Are you telling me they are better than good old regular gasoline? But I thought it's supposed to be a gasser!
