Start pulling vertical as if to enter a stall turn then applying a good rate of airleron combined with a hint of opposite rudder will "usually" get a decent funnel. Once again, use elevator to set the angle. A light touch on the rudder is very important. Too much and you'll easily piro out of the funnel.

you can also get a feel for the amount of stick movement by practicing nose-down, upright funnels, which are really just sharply banked left or right turns held in place. if you can fly backwards inverted, then you can enter the inverted funnel the same way as the upright funnel and just hold the tail down instead of the nose, which is the same cyclic stick movement either way.

I learned to do a funnel by flying backwards. If you fly backwards and make really sharp backward turns, then the only thing you have to do to start the funnel is straigten out the tail with the opposite rudder command. Once the tail is pointing down, keep applying the aileron in the direction of the funnel and to maintain altitude a little down elevator is required every now and then. I usually keep my pitch at about 0 degrees. If you can practice it on a simulator until you get. Definately don't try it with the real heli unless you absolutely comfortable with every orientation.
