Default Cyclone manual

Hi Ron,
I have an original Cyclone manual. IF you need some pages copied, I would be glad to do that for ya. I don't want to copy the whole manual.

Not sure what part I need. I got a used one yesterday and am trying to make heads or tails of it.
How much to let me "borrow" your copy, scan it, then send it back to you?

Hi Ron,
No, I wouldn't let it go. It is about 32 pages. The front couple are just explanations for the new guy, like me. I will take it to work on Monday and copy the important assemblies stuff. I do not have the exploded view paperwork for this one, like I do my Schluters.
I thought about collecting all the manuals for the out-of-business manufacturers. If you have any you don't need, I would be interested. This is exactly the reason I thought of doing it.

Ok, If you know anyone with a scanner, that may be quicker. But I will take whatever I can get.
I am a total newbie and it came with a Webra 50 but no electronics.
I got it pieced back together and think i know where everything goes.
But that starter belt throws me unless you use a starter outside the heli to start it. Things like that.
I found a semblance of a schematic and am trying to make use if it.
First plan is to pull the engine and run it on the bench.

Hi Ron,
Yes, you do start it with a hand-held starter from outside the engine compartment. There shouls be clip area where you can stick the belt to keep it from getting into the mechanics.
My Cyclone II was given to me. It had no electronics, but I don't think it has ever been flown. It has an Enya 50 on it The Cyclone I bought from a guy on Runryder and I ended up with the short end of the stick. It was supposed to have been built, never flown and sat on a shelf. This has had some serious time in the air and crashed hard enough to destroy the landing gear, they have been replaced with wood bows and used skids. So, it is only good for parts on the Cyclone II, what I can use anyway.
I may try scanning them on my scanner this afternoon and see how it comes out. Send me your email, I hope it takes attachments, and send me your address. That way I am covered both ways.

Yes, I saw the posts about that. Sorry you got the raw end of the deal on that one.

I don't think mine was ever flown. The engine looks in good shape and I can get it to bark a bit on the test bench. Need to do some tweaking before I put it back into the heli.
This one came with no electronics, but I think I have enough old stuff laying around to make it airworthy.
Are spares going to be a scarce commodity for me?
Can this thing handle a full body of say an apache?

I do appreciate the help you have given me with the manual.
Thanks MUCHOS!

Story is that he was selling for a buddy, buddy didn't tell him the truth. He offered to have me ship it back and he wouild refund my money. I wasn't going to send it back, I really did want it for the parts. It was supposed to be mint, probably would have flown it. Told him to have his buddy send me what he thought was fair. Never received a thing, guess you know how much truth there is in his buddy,

>I don't think mine was ever flown.

On mine there is very little build up on the inside of the muffler, the skids show no scratches and the whole heli is clean.

A friend helped me get this started, runs great. I want to get this thing all the way back together in the next two weeks. I just need one fast servo for the tail rotor gyro, I'm done.

>This one came with no electronics, but I think I have enough old >stuff laying around to make it airworthy.

Same with this one. Started from scratch and almost done now. Just bought a new RD6000 and installed all the servos on the Cyclone II. I am going to order minis for the EP Concept.

>Are spares going to be a scarce commodity for me?

In all probability, yes. The Cyclone is a neat little heli, keep your eyes open for a parts ship in the Cyclone or Cyclone II. The rotors are different, although some parts are interchangable. The II has a toothed belt on the tail rotor and the Cyclone has a smooth belt. The main frame and landing gear are almost identical, I haven't seen a difference yet. I think it's neat that it has its own compartment for the gyro.

>Can this thing handle a full body of say an apache?

Being that it is a 50, it could. Don't know if it would put a 60 size Airwolf on it. In my opinion, It should not be a problem with a reasonable size one.

>I do appreciate the help you have given me with the manual.

No problem. I will send you a disc with a file called "heliparts". It has a listing of all the Kalt parts I could find, with all the Cyclone parts marked.

Good luck.

I too have a Kalt Cyclone II. Is it possible to get main blades for this helicopter any more? I have been out of R/C for a while and it looks like my OS 50 FSR needs some work as well. It looks like the bearings are rough. Can this engine be restored?

Thanks,

Derek

Hey I've got an old Kalt Baron Alpha II 60. Has your local shop an Internet address or maybe you could give me the fax number. I’m from Norway and over here we got no part at all. If I crash my old dino it’s hard to get it in the air again without any parts.
