Default Shuttle Plus and pitch

After programming the radio according to the Shuttle Plus manual I get the following pitches in Normal mode:

High Pitch: 10.5
Hovering: 5.5
Low Pitch: -5

The manual suggest the following:
High Pitch: 8-9
Hovering: 5-6
Low Pitch: -3

Are the values I got a problem?

I tried to correct these using the EPA, and I got pretty close, but then the values in the other modes were not as good. Should I change the pitch curve for the various modes instead?

decoy
if you are learning to hover use the pitch curve to set:
high:7
hover:5-6
low:0

tail rotor

IMHO - When learning to hover, have your low pitch at +1 degree, that way, if you have to cut the throttle back real quick, it will put the bird softly on the ground. Otherwise, if you get to negitive pitch, when you cut the throttle down, it will hit the ground pretty hard.

Default shuttle tail rotor curves[revoloution mixing]

i have just bought a shuttle plus set up from a specialist helicopter shop, they have agreed to set the model up for free and test fly it,however i have to learn to do it myself at some point.what i want to know is what will happen if the revoloution mixing curve is not correct for the tail?[ a normal piezo rate gyro is being used] will the gyro correct for the tail swing? the radio is sanwa rd 6000 and the preset tail curve is 20% high point,0% mid point and -20% low point.will this be okay for a beginner?also the shuttle manual gives different settings for the tail pitch curve and this has confused me please help!

The Shuttle Plus manual advice you to set -30, 0, 30 with the Sanwa 6000RD for the revo mix.

I am also a beginner, and haven't tried this inflight.
