It moves up only 1 or 2 inches then move into one direction. I move the sticks then it changes the directions. I really cannot make it stay there for a while.
How to hover? Any special skills?
Thanks!

What you are experiencing is perfectly normal for a helicopter. Hovering one is like keeping a marble centered on a piece of glass plate while walking. They just don't want to stay in one place.
The more practice you get the easier it will become. If I hold mine in a steady hover my fingers are constantly making small corrections. At first you tend to over control but practice and experience will help you over come that.
Welcome to the word of helis. Enjoy it and have a blast.

Thanks Scott and Jason. I think I need more practise. Do you feel that the "practising gear" - the long bars with 4 balls - is helpful?
BTW, Scott, are you from Taiwan?

I believe the training gear, as we call it, makes the heli more stable and really helps prevent it from tipping over if your landings aren't quite under control yet. If you can lift straight up and set down without sliding around you don't need the gear.
I'm not form Taiwan, I'm in the good old Midwest in the USA. The avatar is a scan of the patch that my father wore in WWII when he was in Burma/China. He was in the Air Commandos and they set up airfields behind enemy lines. They could give the patch to a local if they were shot down or captured and escaped and it said that they were friends and to take them to the nearest US airfield.

Really!!! So your father is our truely friend! I'm a Chinese living in Beijing!
You know, the flag on the right is now not the national flag of China - it means Taiwan - So I thought you have some relationship there. Anyway, your father and the US army in WWII helped us, the whole China, win the war against Japanese.
Have your father come back here again to take a look after the War? And have your ever been in this part of the world?
My girlfriend is in Pittsburgh. Maybe we can meet each other, in the east or the west.
Thank you! - I think I need a training gear 8o)

wangshuang,
I haven't been to your side of the world as of yet. My company is working with a company in China and I may be going over there someday.
I live about 3 hours from Pittsburgh so if you ever get this direction let me know and we can meet.

Thanks Janson!
I got it. I didn't modify the Expo settings - Instead of it, I made a 50% setting on the ATV of that two channels. Maybe Expo will work better?

Regarding the use of expo to decrease sensitivity around center. You want negative if you have a Futaba radio. You want positive if you use a JR. I believe all the JR's are the same as the 10X, but please read your manual to verify this. If you have it wrong you are in for a wild ride. You may even want to try around 35% (don't forget, - or + depends on the brand of radio).

What is expo?
