Hi Guys, just wondering if somebody would be able to point me in the right direction with a prob I'm having with my Ergo 30. I just replaced the tail rotor servo (S-148) with a Hi-tec 525 and since I've done so, the heli spins uncontrollably in a counter clockwise direction. I've never had any probs at all prior to this.
The Tx I'm using is Futaba 7UAFS with a JR 450 Gyro. I guess what I'm asking is due to the change of servo, is it possible that I will have to reverse the gyro?, and for information, Revo mixing has been inhibited.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated

JR and Hitec servos move the opposite direction of Futaba servos. You need to check the tailrotor pitch direction and most likely have to reverse the servo. Then check that the gyro corrects in the proper direction also.

You got it. The HiTech servos need to be reversed from Futaba servos. I had the same thing a few years back, but mine was with the cyclic, and the helicopter did a nice flop as I was lifting off. That was before I got real serious about doing a COMPLETE pre flight inspection on my helicopters. Hasnt happened since.

Thanks guys, as soon as I posted the above, I had a good think and then went back through my gyro manual, along with some other bit, you guys were right on the money. I sussed it all out late last night in the shed, and she's all ready to go this morning. Thanks again, I must have been suffering from one of "those moments"Cheers and Beers

Best way to check tail rotor is:-
Bend bottom tail blade backwards like rudder on a ship....
Right Rudder should move rudder to right....
Move nose of heli to left.... Rudder should still move right due to the gyro...
Quick and simple check...

Tail rotor is all sorted, retrimmed it all out yesterday, response is a hell of alot better with the new servo, I wish I came across this in the beginning, would have made it all that little bit better.Johno
