Any idea why futaba has introduced a 7ch and an 8ch module for the 9C radios to convert to 2.4 but not a 9 channel module and receiver ?
I mean what is the point of having the 9 ch radio and when you are willing to keep it but convert it, you have to lose a channel ?
This really limits the options of a scale copter. I know 9 channel receivers are available, but without the module they are useless. And never mind the fact that when you get the 8ch module you are stuck using the 9ch receiver. No 8ch ? Extra money for nothing.
This really makes no sense up to now.The more you think about it, you wonder what were they thinking ?
I am thinking of converting, but the more I think about it, the more I find myself looking into the JR X9303.
Futaba in my opinion is loosing the battle here. I prefer Futaba myself, find it easier to program, but the chances are they will lose me as a customer.
Anyway, I was wondering why this is, maybe anyone knows why or has any info on an upcoming new module/receiver ?

The reason is because the 9C only has the 9th channel available on pcm i believe, so when you're using a module you lose that extra channel.
I'm actually waiting for JR to release the 12X at which point I'll sell both my 9CHP and my DX7 for it.

Not to throw more crap at this subject but the 8 channel is not out. Futaba has been delaying release for over a year now. They keep saying "next month". The 7 can out after 6 months of delays but the 8 is still not out. After seeing so many crashes due to spread spectrum I've decided to stay with good old fm 72Mhz.

What are the reasons for the crashes ?
I thought 2.4 was the way to go, and have no interference problems.

From what I have heard most of the crashes have nothing to do with interference.
Most have to do with not enough battery power on the receiver end I'll post a link from Spektrum that explains this. I just amazes me that people are still complaining about this problem when Horizon JR and Spektrum have tried to deal with the issue.
BTW if you like the X9303 its the way to go I just got mine and wow its nice.
Follow this link and look under news and info

Then check out this link or go to it from the news page on Spektrum RC under the name Spektrum Air Receiver Power Requirements

I've alway been a Futaba guy also, but I just picked up a 9303 2.4g. I'm still going through the manual and haven't programmed anything yet but it seems to have alot of great options and seems pretty user friendly. I might think otherwise once I start using it. lol!
