my heli flys around fine, but I have one problem that develop like a month ago. Sometime the heli would make a counter rotating spin while in the air. lately I am just doing one tank of fuel at the field and it always happen with the first tank, 4/5 times the heli spin was when I was in a hover and trying to maintaing the hover for like a minute, and it always spin once. Now when it spin I would add collective so it could go up away from the ground. It fly straight in fff. I have a 9c with gy240 and a hitec 5625 digital servo. It started when I remove my s148 servo and switched my gyro avcs switch to on. I am thinking it could be the gyro acting up only in heading hold mode or it could be my new hitec digital.

I'm not familiar with that gyro, but how are you switching between normal mode and HH, are you using the radio,( gear channel)? If so, when you switch to HH, the servo should not drift, if it does, you need to use the rudder trim to make it stay still, then reset your linkages in normal mode to hold the tail straight.....Coop

Apache,
Please do not tell any of the guys at my field that are using the S-148 with the 240 that it is too slow. Otherwise they will not be able to understand why it is working.
The slower the servo, the less gain can be used, but it will still work. And speed is not the end all and be all.
Foe a better understanding of how they relate read the two articles in the hints and tips section of www.leisuretech.ca web site on servos and gyros.

I was using the s148 for over a year and a half with the heading hold off, and the only problem I had was the sloppy gear after a gal. I am still learning about the heli. I was told that the heading hold gyro would make the s148 work too hard which would cause it to fail more often. I will read your link when I have a chance
