Default starter shaft

On my starter shaft there is a little set screw that keeps the shaft from rotating. when i tighted it i accidently stripped it and now i cant get it out. ANY suggestions will be appreciated.

Try to heat it up then use a different size hex or find a small screwdriver you can wedge in there and get some grip. Sometimes the hex wrench itself gets a bit worn and will cause the screw to strip. Try a new hex wrench of the correct size and you might be able to get enough grip on it after you heat it up. You can heat it up with the tip of a soldering gun.

That works for a rounded wrench but how does that fix a stripped set screw???

Most times the set screw is partially stripped and the hex driver is partially stripped and between the two it slips. Try what Busa and Ginnz say, it sometimes works. Heat helps if there's locktite, if nothing works it's dremel time...

You can try a dab of JB weld on the end of a hex wrench. Clean everything real good with alcohol first, and let it set for 24hrs.
