Default Tail Servo

Hi,

The package I've bought is based around the Shuttle Plus, Sanwa RD6000 radio & servos, and includes a SuperTec S09CL/2BB (coreless) tail servo.

I've just been installing the servos but I've found the collective servo now impacts the bottom of that Supertec tail servo, and this occurs in the normal range of motion required of the servo!

The Supertec servo is deeper than the Sanwa servos, but I'm worried - are all the "good" servos going to be this depth?

What tail servos are you guys using?

Thanks,
Confuzed

I'm using Futaba GY401 with Futaba S9253 fast servo. All fits snugly, I had no problems with any linkage clearance.

PS. Post a picture of the problem area.

I've actually got this one sorted. Well, I cheated a bit...

I bought and installed a carbon tail mount and control rod which I've installed, as you can see in the attached photo. The upgrade was only £20 (GBP) from my LHS.

Does the new mount and push rod vibrate when you fly? I have a standard setup - the problem I have is tail vibrations. Have you upgraded anything else?

I wish I could answer that, but I haven't flown at all yet! Hopefully my first hover will be next weekend!

No - I only did this because it resolved the problem with the servo fitting. I won't be worrying about other upgrades until I've at least learnt to hover

Have you got your training gear strapped on? I strongly recommend you put something on the landing gear to avoit tipping over.

Have a look at my galery, of my training gear.

I have training gear, it just isn't attached at the moment so that it takes up less space in my lounge
