Should f. m. switch n 1 2 be on the top right or left? My new rd8ooo has the option of either unlike the rd6000 that i fly on now. Im in the us.
Is there a recomended servo for the tail on a rap30v2 jr550? I'm using a 225 hitec .11 at 6.0 volts but would like to buy a reasonably priced high perfofmance servo.
Thanks in advance.....mike

It's totally a matter of personal preference. I've used them on both sides. Currently my Infinity 1000's and Stylus have the Flight mode switches on the left side and the FM4 or Throttle Hold is on the right side. I will be converting an RD 8000 to this config this weekend. It's up to you, whatever you feel more comfortable with.

I agree that it is what ever your most comfortable with. I have idle ups on the left and throttle hold on the right. This is how my radio came setup, and is also the way that they fly at the heli field I fly at. I thought this would be a good thing if one of them flew my heli then they wouldn't have to search for the right switch.

Thank you all very much....
I also would like to have my switches the same as others..
just in case someone wants to try.
Its nice that the rd8000 comes with the option of putting the switches on the left or right.
I'm sure you'll love the rd8000, now i can switch from hh to regular gyro in flight.

As an adder to the thread I just changed the switches on the RD 8000. In my case the nuts that hold the switches were very tight and I had to machine a wrench since I didn't have one. IMHO, it may not be worth changing the switch locations without the proper tool.

Thank you for the heads up on the custom wrench. Maybe you could recommend a good tail servo for hh. jr550. So many choices!
I'm thinking my hitec 225 might not center well enough for the performance level I'm after, I was flying fast, doing big stall turns in the 15 mph wind and all of a sudden while flying fast upwind the tail starts into an oscillation! The tail was moving 3 feet back and forth and getting worse... I throttled back to hover and about 5 seconds later it had stopped...whew!!!!
I was thinking the servo arm might be too long and flexing.
