OK.......I had my first minor crash... The Tail rotor blade had an encounter with the ground; yes it broke the Carbon blade and those nice little white gears.... At the same time the main blades struck the ground/grass... The Main blades were barely damaged; it just damaged the plastic covering on the blades, not a scratch to the wood. I looked at the main rotor blades and did not notice any splits or cracks... Also twisted the blades, No problem... My Question is can I cover the blades with monokote or do they have a plastic wrap to cover the blades, or do I keep these blades as a memory.... I did order a new set of blades just curious if I can use these later? Also I ordered the New Black Carbon Thunder tiger blades, 680mm..... Anyone know if they’re junk or A- OK... They were only 76$ is that to High? Appreciate your input... Thanks.......

Throw the stock woodies away never fly crashed blades! The TT composite blades are very good I'm pretty sure they are made by SAB which is a popular brand. You got the black TT blades for $76 I paid $79 for the white gel coat the black ones I've seen are over $100, anyway no that is not expensive. My rule of thumb is 30 sized helis use wood blades to learn on, 60 sized use composite blades only(fiberglass or carbon) that's one of the reason learning on a 60 is way more expensive than learning on a 30. You will also want to check your feathering shaft if the main blades hit the ground it is probably bent.

I don't trust wood blades they have a tendency to let loose at the grip and that really ruins your day, 60 sized blades are big and heavy and spin very fast if one let loose it would do a lot of damage. The other problem is they are usually way out of balance and require a lot of work to whip them into shape, balance is very important on 60 sized helicopters it affects them more than it does a 30 sized. And last you buy a 60 sized helicopter because they fly better more precise why would you want to use wood blades and decrease the performance. I hope that helps, these really are just my opinions there are a lot of people out there that will agree with me and I'm sure just as many that would say I'm full of, I'll leave it up to you, just have fun and be safe!
