Default Quick 15 EP Conversion Flys!

I figured out that I must have a bad cell in my pack. The heli flys with really good power for about 1 minute and then the power falls off almost like I am running on 8 cells... This could happen if a 10 cell pack has two bad cells in it that each will only take, say, 500ma of a 2000ma charge.

Anyway, here's a video of my second flight which I decided to go into FF with it as the next step in the test, even with the bad pack.

I am thinking about ordering the Thunder Power pack for this guy and also changing out some stuff to lighten the load.

Right now, as is, in the first minute, it has enough power to loop and roll and hover inverted. When I get a better pack, I'll do some aerobatics.

I flew it tonight with 12 cells and all I can say it WOW, what a difference! I am dying to fly it around in FF but it is pitch dark outside. I will do it in the morning, but I will guestimate that my headspeed is running around 1700-1800 at 70% throttle. Time for proper setup and then turn on the governor.

I want to experiment with a 12 and 14 tooth pinion and 10 cells to see if I can get the same head speed with the smaller packs. Then I will know that I can fly with the 3s4p pack and save a LOT of weight! If it flys really well with a 21.5oz 10 cell pack, it will fly GREAT with a 17 oz. LiPo.

Even though the 12 cell pack is 4-5 oz heavier than the 10 cell pack, the heli is MUCH lighter on the sticks.

Right now I am flying with a 14T pinion and with the B50-18S on 470s, I can feel the motor bog down some. The head speed is really good on 12 cells, but I think I am over working the motor. I just tried a set of 440s with the same pinion tonight and 10 cells and the head speed had to be well over 1800! I slowed it down some as it scared me a little. The motor and esc ran cooler too.

I would love to find a set of 450-460 blades and try them out. The heli responded very well, much like my Voyager did with the 8L and 10 cells. If I put the 3s4p pack in, I will lose 5-6 oz over my current pack and I believ at least for now, I will have a real winner!

The heli is rock solid in a hover. I currently have a set of SAB 440 glass blades on it.

HHI is getting in packs of 5 pinions, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15T for $25.00 a pack, not bad, not great, but I will take it.

I'm over in Lancaster county and I fly at the Lancaster and Buck fields. You're welcome to come any time and check it out.

I will have it down at the Hirobo Cup this weekend.

Look for a big guy with orange and yellow helis, all Quick.

Default Pinion gear

Would you say that the 14 tooth with the 10 cell and thee 440s is a good choice?

What motor are you going to use?

I think for 10 cells, you might want the 13T, and run the Govenor at 90% with the 440s.

I am going to try the C50-13L next on 12 cells with 470s.

Hi, I am planning on using the Jeti Phasor 45/3. if it works, it a good deal at $135 from hobby-lobby. I can barely affor to buy the motor and controller, much less experiment. what do you think?

You need to find out what the KV rating of the motor is, then I can give you a little more information.
