RE: Riddles
In a contest, four fruits (an apple, a banana, an orange, and a pear) have been placed in four closed boxes (one fruit per box). People may guess which fruit is in which box. 123 people participate in the contest. When the boxes are opened, it turns out that 43 people have guessed none of the fruits correctly, 39 people have guessed one fruit correctly, and 31 people have guessed two fruits correctly. The Question: How many people have guessed three fruits correctly, and how many people have guessed four fruits correctly?
It is not possible to guess only three fruits correctly: the fourth fruit is then correct too! So nobody has guessed three fruits correctly and 123-43-39-31 = 10 people have guessed four fruits correctly.

Once in a restaurant I ordered a chicken and an egg - just to see which would come first
Actually, the answer to this age-old question is simple - the Egg came first.
After all, a chicken had to come from an egg, but the egg didn't have to come from a chicken (It came from an ancester of the chicken)

This is an old one that I had re-written for my son's cub scout den a few years ago. It was originally about a hotel room.
Three Cub Scouts are going camping. A campsite costs $30. Each scout pays the Park Ranger $10 and goes to set up camp.
The Park Ranger realizes that the scouts overpayed. A campsite only costs $25. He takes five $1 bills out of the box and heads to the campsite.
On the way, the Ranger realizes that three scouts can’t split $5 evenly, so he sticks $2 in his pocket.
The Ranger gives each scout back $1 and heads back to his station.
Now each scout has paid $9 for the campsite.
3 Scouts x $9 = $27
If you add the $2 that the Ranger stole, $27 + $2 = $29
WHERE DID THE OTHER DOLLAR GO?

A couple more....
Do they have 4th of July in England?
If you enter a room with a wood stove, an oil lamp, and a candle, and you only have one match, which one do you light first?
You live in a square house, with a window in each wall. No matter which window you look out, you are looking north. Where do you live?
