thanks for info .. i like the sprint also. what does it weigh? kingtech enough??
KingTech K-80 will provide plenty of power, a buddy has that set up and dialed the max RPM from 145000 down to 135000 to match what he had in it before which was a 60N size turbine.

The Jets Munt 90 I have in mine is 21lb of thrust, the Sprint takes it easy, no need to dial anything around that power down, I can recommend the Jets Munt its a good turbine at a competative price, small size and exemplary service from Gasper.

You could always go for a JC Rabbit, same power, kero start and true lifetime warranty...
Or Behotec JB66.. 20lbs, kero start available... these things are industrial strength...

Andy,
Go Boomerang! If you buy the Falcon 120...it will HAVE to have a JetJoe for full effect!
I use Jet Joes to dry my laundry. They work fabulous for that.
Yea, I bet all the flames from the wet start really help dry things!!! Then again...I imagine you have to air dry your laundry a lot too since, from what I see on the flightlines...the turbine actual running is a rare experience, mayb at full moon or something!!![8D]

Not to hi-jack the thread but I need you jet-guys experience. I just bought a nice used FTE 500 turbine. I know there no longer made but it runs good and it will get me into jets. The guy never had the Fadec to view the turbine settings. I will eventually track one down but in the mean time will I be able to set it up with my JR 9303 2.4 for the turbine to learn the throttle curve? He was also flying Spectrum 2.4 as am I. Thanks for your help guys.

You can't run the turbine without a FADEC.

You can buy one [link=http://www.xicoy.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=196]here[/link]

Once you ge the fadec, you will need to program the right parameters into it. These you could probably get by asking here or to FRank tiano.

good luck

Edgar,

Thanks for the info. Maybe I miss spoke. I have the unit that goes into the plane and everything is hooked up. I don't have the data box that can show what numbers I am looking at. The previous settings for the turbine have been untouched. I have attached a picture of what I need.

Can I use this as a substitute: http://www.xicoy.com/catalog/product...products_id=48

I also think you should start your own thread. Plus, I am sure you'll get questions answered more effectively.

The BobCat Comp has always been a great short field plane .... Mine had an old P120 with quite a bit residual thrust, and it would still land nice tight and short .. Im gonna need to get another one some day ..

How much for the Turbinator and is it an ARF or kit? Are they going to carry the retracts for them? Is it the same wingspan as the original design? So many questions, so long to wait!!!! That thing flies nice, but Shui can fly a box with enough power! i saw him fly last year at Warbirds over the Rockies and He did an awesome job flying someone elses F-4. Nice low inverted passes at mach 1!

The trouble with a new design is all the wrinkles have not been ironed out yet in turbine use, improvements will be inevitable after realese, this can cause a loss of comfort with the airframe at a later date IMO I would go with a proven design for a first jet and I don't think you can beat the Boomerang Sprint in this size for freindly flying and good short field landing.

Hey guys,

The Turbinator ARF is in production now, we've had many delays unfortunately but it is finally coming about. I've made some changes to it for easier transport/break down, etc like plug in stabs, plug-together wings (slide together on 2 tubes, then 4 bolts hold it into the fuse). Estimated street price is $900 including linkage hardware and hopefully a custom fiberglass fuel tank (100oz).

We will have 2-3 color schemes available and plan to start shipping at the end of this year.

I'm in the process of redoing our website, so for all inquiries just shoot me an email at [email protected] or enjoy the youtube videos, hopefully someone filmed my demo flights at Jet Power last week showing off the Turbinator, I felt it was some of my best flying with the model yet.

The Turbinator is powered by a Jet Central Rabbit and can easily take off and land from 200' grass with room to spare, and probably 100' of pavement!

You should also consider an Angel. I fly with Sailing1 and the Angel will fly with a 20 to 36lb turbine and operate on our 400' paved with no problem. Its also grass capable if you don't have a paved strip. Find my Angel for sale in the jet classifides. 1999
