David,

Played in my golf clubs version of the Ryder cup. I was 6-0 in my matches and our side won the cup. Braging rights for a year.

maybe start a new thread once she gets airborne? or change the title of this one since initial problems have been rectified.

can't wait to see pix of her, this bird will lock in beautifully in the landing pattern, almost as nicely as an F4

good luck this weekend with her amigo

Well she has 4 flights now and I still have problems to solve. The main gear door cylinders are not strong enough to keep the doors closed. This caused air leak so I need some more powerful cylinders to keep the doors closed during flight.

The flap elevator mix of the F 5 F 20 is no good for the T 38. It needs tiny down trim with flaps not up as reported for the F 5/20. I am still working on landing flap set up and then speed brakes. Will report after better cylinders installed.

Anton, any hope of getting some stronger ones from you to replace the ones not up to the job?

Thanks

Kevin

have you considered using flight modes, vice the Flap elevator mix, in case you haven't tried that already. once you get her trimmed out in flight modes and you still want to use flap-elevator mix you can match the settings.

good looking bird and congrats despite the minor irritations.

cheers

That is beautiful Kevin. Congrats!

Is that a Randolph or a Sheppard bird?

Kevin, can you post a picture of your fuel tank position.
Did you fit them through the front before bolting the nose on ?
The manual only shows the F-5 install and the T-38 is very different...can't wait to fly mine ![8D]
thanks

Dave,

I would buy a second one without question. People going to Mississippi will see it fly many times. Hopefully someone will have video.

If you would like to fly it this year I would just send the gear to Darrell http://www.sierragiant.com/ and he will fix that gear and there will be no more air leaks I had the same problem with a set off Mick Reeves Hawker Hunter gear and he made custom cylinder and had the gear fixed in one week.
