Default Skymaster T 38 Problem

I have the first T 38 ready to fly less one bad from factory main retract cylinder. Patty at BVM has been great at letting Skymaster know of the bad part. It has been almost a month now and still no confrimation from Skymaster about shipping of the cylinder. I think they have had plenty of time to get me my part. Comeon Skymaster get in the game and help me get my T-38 flying.

Here are a few pics. Don Yockey painted this one and it looks fantastic

Nice paint job.

I agree one month is long enough to wait for a part.

Very nice looking plane.
Do you have pictures taken from the front with a view on the engine intakes ?
Also please report on the maiden and subsequent flights + video if possible.

Many thanks and good luck.

Actually the paint job will be easy to see. I live under the traffic pattern at Randolph AFB TX and the 2-tone gray is really easy to see. The dark stands out against the clouds and the light against the sky.

Thanks Anton for getting the part coming my way. I have been looking forward to flying this since it arrived.

I will let everyone know how she goes. Don did one from scratch made of balsa and planking that was actually a little bigger. It was easy to see and flew awesome.

Hi Anton,

I emailed a few days ago but haven't heard back. I really think that Skymaster should consider creating a good process for consumers to buy parts. This is in my opinion a huge issue that probably causes a large number of prospective customers to pass on Skymaster or at least pass after buying once. As an illustration, would you buy a car knowing that if you need any part it will probably take months?

You don't have to sell them for cheap. Make a profit on every transaction! It should be pretty straightforward to put together a simple e-commerce site with paypal or yahoo commerce. It could be a long table without pictures as a starting point....

Anyhow, this is justgenuinefeedback. I'm a big Skymaster fan and I know I'm not the only one experiencing this issue. I really hope this helps.

Anton,

Got the parts. they sent only the end of the piston with o-rings. This solved one side of the leak but not the side with the piston sticking out. Can't believe the did not send the whole cylinder as reported.

Thanks to Jeff, He is forwarding new cylinder from F-5 kit that is the same.

Hopefully we will be ready when this one comes in.

Anton,

Skymaster should add one more step in manufacturing process and have each cylinder tested by putting air on each side of piston and listen for leak. Mine was such a large leak that all air is gone in 5 seconds from 100psi filled tank.

Question from earlier about the inlets. They are rounded like the full scale, not an F5 turned into a T -38
