Make sure you post a video of your first flight using a turbine as a trainer.

Haha. Yer It'll probably end in a shiny pile of rubble. At least I have a nice open place to land. I was thinking a while back why not add an extra channel with a large rocket parachute so you can get used to flying before attempting to land.

This has accident written all over it lol. Take the advice given, learn to fly something easy and cheap first and then get a jet when you are ready. If you get a jet forst and with nobody to help you, you will loose around $5000 aus dollars first flight, guaranteed

Sorry Motas, but I think your first flight will look like the end of this one.....not just you, but anyone who starts with a turbine plane as a first....without an instructor even.

Dad used to have them so I do have an instructor. Dont wory im not taking anything personally. I cant decide what I want. I will either get a baja 5b, a gas jet boat, a heli or a beginner plane. I really cant decide. What beginner plane would you recomend? I'd like a gas one its cheaper to run.
Thanks.

That turned me off jets lol. They sound AWESOME though. How much room do you need to take off and land and how smooth does it have to be? Sucks how they explode when you crash though you need like an entire new plane.

The electric one is better, and that's what I learned on. Nexstars are a great way to get into flying.

I'm not trolling. I'm doing research on everything to see which one I want. I'm in australia so shipping is a killer when ordering something that big from tower hobbies. Www.hobbyman.com.au is local to me if there is anything good there? Also is there a good gas beginners plane i trust my gas tuning better since it's in the air I don't really want it stalling.
Thanks.

Well, from that site, here are some good ones:
http://www.hobbyman.com.au/retail_ca...m/EFL2725.html
http://www.hobbyman.com.au/retail_ca...T-PHOENIX.html

Those would be great first planes.

I'd rather not get an electric I don't really like them and i can tune a nitro and everything. Would the 2 gas ones they have be any good for a beginner or just stick with a smaller nitro for now?
Thanks.

Stick to your 5B, or maybe get a boat....you will be much happier in the end.....

We don't have a local rcclub. Completely random question but would just be cool to try once. You know how in the army the air drop humvees while moving. Could you do that with a rc plane and a savage? Would look so cool.
Motas

Just go down the road (get Dad to drive you or catch the train) to the club in Sale, we fly turbines every weekend along with everything else you can stick a prop or blade on, there are no excuses for not learning correctly.

Thankyou.
