Model is bigger than I expected, but breaks down into small sections! Really nice detail and quality, not too heavy but it will need lots of nose weight, turbine is behind the balance point and nose is short. That said the wing area is huge and it will carry weight no problem
Gerhard-thank you, the people in today who looked at it all want them now! Either P-80SE or P120SX in mine I think

Bigplumbs: Absolutely. . .and why not. . .
Dave: Proto was flown with 30lb Super Eagle and almost immediately we changed to the Rabbit with 19lb of thrust. . .This was the ticket, less nose weight, less fuel and performance was exceptional.
Give some thought to NOT using the P-120. . .I think you will be pleased.
Best regards,
Eric

Dave,
I want one. Are you getting more stock in the New Year and is there more than one color/variation scheme.
Looks a fabulous model.
John Derry of our famous Derry turn fame (DHtest pilot) use to put on a hair raising flying show in his Vampire in the late 40's/early 50,s
I cant seem to download the link but if you go on Google and type John Derry /Pathe News you will see him flying his Vampire at Rome airport in 1948 so low that spectators were ducking with fright ,Great stuff!!!!

Only two stock Schemes as the Derjet web site. There will be quite a wait, several customers are already in the line and world wide there are plenty that were ordered middle of this year. Derjet have shown a good business sense, the delays while the model was perfected look to have been worth while, quality is very good. You can talk to me about an order...

The Vampire is quite a difficult plane to see in the air. The one I have was mainly silver like the 2 available from Dearjet and being a rather average pilot I had trouble seeing it. Once I painted the wing tips red it helped a lot. I think it would be nice if they chose a couple of more schemes with more colour on it. It is a lovely model none the less and mine flys like a boomer to some degree

I've flown a couple of Marsden Vampires in silver and never had a problem, even with my duff eyes!
Couple more shots of detail, we think that we will leave the booms tail assembled and have a simple wood brace that goes over the mounting tonges.

Had the chance to look through the Vampire a little more today while at the office serving some "holiday builders" who needed parts...one brought whisky!!
Quality is really good, look at the servo hatch fit!
Will try and assemble whole model again tomorrow.

The basic model looks good and I have the same thought, though this scheme is not scale for this Mk of Vampire, this is one of the RAAF Vamps and should have "bunny" ears on the underside, but these could easily be added.

Busy day today, but I did get a chance to look at the underside. I also found that the alloy blade spars had some paint/resin at the junction, which had stopped them going fully home.
Still very impressed.
