Uncle Joe,

Thanks for the offer, but I think I've decided definitely on the VMAT 102 scheme. Neither Aeroloft or Promark have the Diamondbacks scheme already done, so I'd have to pay for the custom artwork.[:@] Aeroloft already has the artwork done for the SkyHawks, so it's just a matter of resizing it. Much cheaper!

Holly cow ! You guys are great ! I'm a retired engineer just starting to get into RC flight and so impressed with the A4 and  it'spictures. I had no idea models that size and of that quality existed. Great workmanship from what I can see. I worked on engineering of the A4 at Douglas in the 50's and all I have seen of your model makes me very proud this plane is being duplicated for model flight. I hope one day I too will fly well enough to consider going into something this large.

UJ,

I'm not sure. I haven't gotten that far yet, but the pics I have looks like there wasn't much else there, other than the plane ID # & model on the tail & the other standard stuff.

David !

Congretulation with the A-4 and nice to see others has spent a fortune on the most sexy plane ever

I purchased mine as one of the first customers when it first came our 2 years ago and are almost done with her ready for painting

Along the build from my point of view, I have had some headaches but I now see the light in the end of the tunnel of say

Mine will bee Hawaian VC-1 with centertank and all off Dan´s scale details !

I will post some pictures after New Year !

Best regards from snowy Denmark

Peter Bang
Peter,

I'm glad to hear someone else is going to have another one in the air soon! Let me know your final weight & balance & surface throws as soon as you're done, please. That's another one of the missing items not yet provided by Comp Arf. I'm looking forward to seeing your photos soon. How did you do the wing vortex generators?

I placed the very first USA order for the A-4 two years ago with the deposit, but eventually got discouraged when the LG was delayed, so I cancelled. I just picked this one up, complete, in the second hand market from another modeler who apparently decided not to build it. I'm glad I did!

Happy New Year!

David,
What is the approximate area of EACH intake?

And how wide is the fuse at the mid point? (thinking of a different install)

I just got it 5 days ago. One of those "can't pass it up" type deals! Blue Angels is nice, but I like the full on combat look more.

Well, I've just encountered the first problem. The nose gear mount installed in the fuse comes pre-drilled. The problem is that the holes don't match the landing gear mount. 3 holes on the mount, 5 holes in the gear & none of the three in the mount match up with the gear.

Net result, I had to re-drill new holes from the bottom, but unfortunately had to be thru the fuse as well in order to get access:

I got them all lined up & done & now have to patch the holes in the fuse bottom. I decided to back up the gear mount with an added carbon fiber plate because of the extra holes drilled. The nose gear is installed & functions properly.

Body correction, in this case filling the fuse to vertical fin joint. The vertical fin will still be removeable.

Looking good dave. couple of questions.

1. Was it not possible to install the gear on top of the nose gear rails and drill from the top side, instead of the bottom?
2. What did you use to fill the fuselage to vertical fin joint?
