Hello. Here the pics of my new Hydraulic pistons for the Viper L. They are totally new design and construction for the use with oil. If somebody is interested in those piston we can produce in small or large quantity. We don.t know now the exactly price for single piston. Regards Enrico

Just sorting out some quality issues with FEJ, they have been very supportive so far. Hopefully they will improve on the packaging for others shipped.
Two critical things to check when the jet arrives:
1. the winglets - if the wings move inside the box and hit the end this will apply pressure to the wing skin join and it will break
2. main fuselage (not nose section) - forward floor area is extremely thin (I think similar to Skymaster experience). Items are packaged inside the fuselage for shipping. these internal items can punch a hole in the floor from the inside out. Turn the fuselage upside down and check the bottom carefully for damage.

Received a large Viper in November of 2010. Plane was packed very well with no damage. Started the assembly in May of this year and in about a week had it together with all electronics and powerplant installed. This one required the least amount of time to put together because all the control surfaces were installed at the factory. The plane is powered by a Jet Central Rhino with Hitec 7954 and 7955 on the control surfaces. I should have it at Kentucky Jets this week.

Still trying to get it sorted. FEJ have sent touch up paint. Original plan was to send the wings back to the factory for repair, but this is now taking forever for FEJ to organise pickup.
Might have to look at injecting some Hysol into the wingtip splits and be done with it.
When we pay a considerable amount of money for a product we shouldn't have to do any repairs on the jet when it arrives.
Guess we persevere!

I agree with you.If the damage is minor,it would be better to do it yourself just to save the turn around time and have them cut you a check for your trouble. But you say they sent you some material to get started. There trying but sorry it's taking so long.I really want to follow your build,..with
mineon the way it gives me an idea what I will be getting into.Hope it all works out and look forward to your future post.

Enrico, how are you going to deal with the issue of the hydraulic system needing to be disconnected everytime you take your wings off? Or are you just going to leave the wings on all the time?

Another consideration is the fuel tanks. Tried desperately to get some photos of the fuel tanks FEJ use but couldn't until the Viper S arrived.
There are two small half tanks in the bottom of the fuselage just aft of the mid section bulkhead. Each tank completely full only has 1300mls in it, so a total of 2600mls. I'm planning on running an ATJ120Ti so think I will need at least 4000mls for a decent 10 min flight time with reserves.

Have bought the Skymaster fuel tanks for their Viper 2.0m. The main tank is 2200mls and would sit forward of the mid section bulkhead. It is beautifully formed to fit in between the air intake tunnels in the centre of the fuselage.
Thoughts are to run the two FEJ tanks in parallel, and feed into the main tank 2200mls, then through the UAT. Probably just keep the fuel load down to the 4000mls mark.
