Hydraulic retracts & sequencer delay
Do you think up to 8 seconds would be enough for a hydraulic gear up (or down) sequence before the doors move ?
Thanks.
Thanks.

RE: Hydraulic retracts & sequencer delay
Depends on the system and how fast the motor is and also of your sequencer is using "true" seconds for timing. I say that because I tried using an RCBee sequencer for my hydraulices and it claims it can go up to 8 seconds but it is really more like 4 seconds. That was not enough time for me. I think the best sequencer for hydraulics is the Jettronic one, it uses true seconds and allows for plenty of time as well as differentially timing for up and down.

RE: Hydraulic retracts & sequencer delay
Hello Guys,
I am asking this on behalf of a friend who is converting a SM Mig-29 from pneumatics to hydraulics.
He already has the JL-Bee sequencer which claims to go up to 8 seconds delay, well spotted Ian !
I will advise him that he may have to get the Jet-Tronic instead.
John I saw your Mig @ Shawbury and thanks for the advice.
I told my mate how good your A/B rings were !
If you count 8 seconds in your head (1000,2000.........8000) it seems a long time !

Hydraulic system from India.
It has been suggested to me that there are better (albeit more expensive) solutions out there ?

Thats the one I am running, the UMS. There is a Eurokit version out there that does cost more but I have experience in a side by side comparison. Below is a video I took to do some troubleshooting but it will give you a good idea of how long it takes for my SU's wheels to get up in the plane:

RE: Hydraulic retracts & sequencer delay
Oh thanks for the input guys, the system has been fixed since then. There are no mechanical locks, hence the use of the hydraulic system. The problem was a bad check valve, already swapped it out and it works great. I posted the video to illustrate the amount of time it takes for the gear to retract, it was the only video I had.
