Default Rectus Type 20 QD fitting

Is anyone familiar with the Rectus Type 20 quick disconnect fitting? Is this fitting suitable to fuel system use? It is made in Germany, and you know the Germans make good stuff!

Dave,

They're good, but make sure you get the "E" series!

I've used these for years for propane filling...but I would think the ID of the valve would be to small to be an effective way to fill fuel tanks...
I do stock them here at the shop.

I use this type of fitting to connect my main tank to the wing tank of my Flash, having zero issues.

Regards, Bart.

Bart,

followed the link...not 100% sure what is what. All I know is I want exactly what I have now the Type 20. Can you or anyone asist me in getting some of the Type 20 QD's like I have pictured?

Please Advise.

Hi Dave, if you want exactly what you have in your pictures from that shop, then you need Bestell-Nr.: 600739 and Bestell-Nr.: 600735.
The first one is the female plug wich is selfsealing (or internal shut-off, I have really no idea how to translate it correctly).
The second one is the male plug wich is not selfsealing.
For my Flash I use both selfsealing types.

Keep in mind that using these types of fittings can cause some restriction in your fuelsystem, it all depends how hungry your turbine is.
My setup runs absolutely troublefree, no sign of collapsing UAT's or anything. I use a JetCentral Cheetah for my Flash.

Regards, Bart.

I have been using the one Todd sells since last year for filling my onboard fuel tanks. Works great!

I have used the Dreamworks ones for filling and they work great. I think they are also available from McMaster Carr but I was never able to find them on there.

Todd, does the male bulkhead fitting have a check valve in it?

Same type of fitting, different manufacturer.

The male does not have a check valve, only the female. Male check is not available in this style fitting.
