Default Servo selection time and questions

I know the standard is pretty much jr and i use jr on my helis and hitec/jr on my giant plane but futuba and hitec both have some new servos that look really good. Futabas new Bls157 ultra torq servo has 514 oz at 7.4 volts and .11 speed, the hitecs look even better. These new hitecs like the HSB-9380TH use Neu-Castle brushless motors that use 1/3 the power of what a current servo uses and constant torque output no matter what the power output is. They don't have the torq of the futaba but man thats a nice servo. Still 486 oz at 7.4 volts .14 sec isn't that shabby. These are pretty new servos so I'm sure not much feedback is out there, but if any has some experience with these new servos please chime in. Thanks

Mister Bean, [8D]

I know of one person that was using the newer brushless Futaba servos at a Tucson jet fly we went to a couple months ago... It was on an ARF - I'm not sure why he would've needed brushless servos, but I guess if he's happy, I'm happy. Do you really need 500 oz-in of torque though? Sounds like it may be way overkill for what I think will be a first jet? What is the servo torque requirement per the model instructions?

Also, I'm looking thru a Tower catalog right now (I need to order a receiver) and the flier I'm paging thru (good thru June 2011) does not even list a BLS157 as available, so it must be a pretty new item.

I also would comment that I don't think JR is necessarily "the standard"... It is just an available brand as much as Futaba, Hi-Tec, Airtronics, etc.

No intent here to flame at all... [8D]

If those Hitecs are the ones I saw Hitec demonstrating at Toledo the power output and efficiency was impressive....

They had a comparision test set up with several "unknown" brands and there were some major differences in terms of response and current draw.

they both are the july fly rc magazine.
500 is a lot but if cost the same as something less im going with more bang from the buck
the hitecs look really nice
