Hello all
finally getting around to using the JetCat USB SW and USB cable to connect to my ECU to download data. I am running WIN7 64bit.
I downloaded the SW from the link on Todd's site (direct to the German site) and I have installed all the SW (and translated the pdf instructions page as well).
so, when i plug in the cable to my laptop, i get a message that it is trying to install drivers, but that the driver install fails. i tried the drivers on the JetCat DE website-no joy.
i am getting a similar message with trying to install my JR 12x datasafe transfer sw. all good for the SW install, but when i get to plugging in the USB device-no luck.
i have successfully run the Phoenix Sim SW, so.........
help!!
also, when you run the JetCat USB ECU SW/cable, do you have to have the ECU powered or just plug in the jack?
when i did try to "find" the device with auto detect, it just looked at all the ports and then failed.....
standing by for the simple answer-and this is the computer i am planning on using so going to another computer is not a real option for me.
thanks for your help.

Hi Joe,
I have been using the sw to run a P200 for about 18 months. I have found that you need to connect the cable to the ECU and computer, power up the ECU and then start the Jet Cat Software. You will then be able to use the software to run the turbine and download data.
I use windows XP and have had no issues with the software other than if you run the turbin then shut it down and let it go through the cool down cycle, it will get to about 100 C and restart the turbine.

Try this.
Restart your computer. While rebooting tap f8, you will gets selection of options. Choose the last one in the list. It is something about drivers. This will allow your computer to use unsigned drivers. You will need to start this way everytime you wish to use the software.
This works on the 12x software.

do you have to have the ECU powered externally and connected to the receiver to download the data?
