Default Help on 12X!!!!

Allright, I know theres some 12X gurus out there who can help me with a little problem...Im using an 8 channel receiver and Im trying to program my flaps with some elevator mixing. Well there is no flap channel on the receiver so I used AUX 2 for the flaps and just mated it to the flap switch. Well now I cant use the flap system( #66 ). Is there any way of using that system with no flap channel?? The receiver is an AR8000..Any help would save me more hours of frustration..Thanks

Flap channel is usually channel 6 on the receiver. I'm going out on a limb here, but I think if you plug into channel 6 you'll be fine. I've done that on my 12X with receivers that don't SPECIFY channel 6 as anything in particular and always been able to use the flap settings.

Like LMX said, the flaps are channel 6.. AKA Aux-1. Then you should be able us Function 66 to set flap deflection as you want on the flap switch and mix whatever elevator you want to each position. That should get you going..

We need more information. Like is this a Jet, with two flaps, two rudders, two aelerons? Are you using match boxes? Brakes, retracts, etc? The 12X allows you to bring in dual flaps, and put them with some variation, but its not just that simple as which channel.

KFX,

Let me know how you end up on the elevator mix and which direction... I'm building one of those right now for a customer. Any help will save me a little time !!!!!

No problem Danno..Plugged it into AUX 1 this morning and it worked like a charm. I just finished it and if I didnt work so much it would have already been maidened. Im gonna go with the recommened throws on the elevator mix and let you know how it pans out. I read up on it quite a bit on RCG and they were saying it was spot on when flaps deployed..I will be taking it with me this Sunday for one of our jet gatherings, I will keep you in the loop..

Have another 12X question..Still trying to get use to it...

I have my rudder mixed with AUX2 ( Nose gear steering)..How to I inhibit AUX2 when the gear switch is up??? IE: canceling nose wheel steering when gear is up but obviously have rudder control..Any help would be appreciated..Thanks..

I don't have my transmitter in hand just now , but I believe on the first page of the mix setup , where you specify master and slave, there is a box you can check that says " and" here is where you want to go the the gear switch and turn the "and" and "gear" on. I believe this will give you what you want.

its been a long winter and Im having brain cramps, so hopefully someone can help me..Im trying to get brakes on my right slider switch on the 12x. It seems Aux3 is running my left slider switch. When I go into the Monitor and move the right switch it is not on any channel. Im using a 1222 receiver..Can someone help??? Thanks

KFX - you can assign channels to different switches on the 12 (which helps with another solution to the first question). Firstly go in to the system mode, go to device select and make sure AUX 3 isn't inhibited. Then you can scroll across and assign it to whatever switch you want (provided it's not being used for something else - you can just inhibit it if it is).

Also - if you still need the answer to the nose wheel steering thing, I mix the nose channel to the rudder (master). Then assign the mix to the gear switch, when the gear is up, the mix is off so the wheel doesn't move.

Wow..That took me all of 2 seconds to do ..haha..Thanks Andrew..Maybe you can help me with another issue I just had..I had my Elan set up on a 10x last year but now I am setting it up on the 12x..Im trying to mix Rud-AUX2, ruder -nose wheel steering. On my other Jet I have have it as

Program Mix 1

RUDD-AUX2
Pos.0
L+100
R+100

It works so I am figuring its right...When I did this on my elan my steering servo burned right out, got really hot..This just a bad servo?? or did I do something wrong..

Not sure about that one.

Normally I use a curve mix and just manually set up the extent of the mix to give me the throw I want.
