No problem at all. Its proved a favorite around the events, lots of comments last weekend about how great it fly's.
You will love it.

Ok Dave I hate to bother you with this but Futaba was absolutely no help with understanding this GYA430 gyro. Would you look at the manual for me and tell me if it is something I should use on this plane. All I want is the rudder assisted to take out wag. John at Futaba told me that I would have to fly the plane with the gyro in the heading hold (AVCS) mode and a gyro user told me I didnt want a heading hold setup for normal flying. Maybe I only want the gyro on for landing and take off? Anyway its all new to me and my two thumbs are the only gyros I have ever used.
Take your time on this I dont want to be annoying about it, but just let me know what you think about the gyro and I will go from there.
thank you very much
Jimmy

My plan with this gyro is to hook it up to ports one and two and use a three way switch on the transmitter and a digital servo in port three. I want to know what you think about the gyro and if its is adequate for controlling the tail wag....or if you think I should send it back and go with another gyro all together. I am totally open to your suggestions
thanks again
Jimmy

Not a Futaba guy at all, but looks like it will do what you require in normal mode. You do not want heading hold!

Rate mode is all you need as a yaw damper. My basic JR gyro is on all the time

My problem is not knowing what I really need cause I know nothing about gyros... You tell me since you know the plane and understand gyros. BTY which JR do you run?
Thanks Dave

Yesterday's progress included centering and installing the servos and gluing the control horns on the rudder and elevators... Dave when I balance this plane do you recommend doing it inverted? Mid wing has me thinking

Thanks Dave

Thanks Dave that will make the balance process easy. Yesterday I laid out all the hose and extension routing and wore myself out getting the nose steering in

Be careful about using cable ties on the fuel lines, they bunch tube at the block and can cause leaks!
Also the long line from the front tank I used 6mm o/d 4mm i/d tube like BVM sell, the 1/8 i/d tube is going to work the system harder.

Ok all the tygon is actually 5/32" id but that long line you mentioned I never liked anyway so it'll come off for a 6mm line. Hit a problem with the little Futaba gyro.... Rudder won't center and the trimmer dial doesn't function properly so it went back to Futaba today Staring on the wings this weekend Don't you love problems

OK, 5/32 is almost there, maybe the only advantage is the harder wall on the SMC tube
Don't know Futaba stuff, so couldn't help!

Wings are easy-are you going to take the units out and check, grease them? I did
GJC have said they are only doing the ARF version and not the Pro from now on.

That may be a profit advantage for them but yeah the gear come out for a look see and spring replacement. All the tanks have 5/32" id brass fittings and tygon but I think you're right about that one long line and I do have the 6mm to go in place of it. The gyro had some sort of problem.... Initializing and all the lights functioned great it was just the two issues on the rudder centering and travel trimmer dial....Futaba will make it right In the meantime I have a cortex ordered

Dave do still recommend the JR8321 servos for the ail and flap or is there another? My JR8611 won't fit so I need to order some smaller servos
thanks Dave

Dave I do have two more pieces of data I'd like you input on the first beingflap setup.... How may millimeters of throw do you use on approach and landings as well as the max flap setting on the servo throw. The other is on the speed brakes, how should I use them? Thanks for your help again your help on this plane has been of great value to me and I look forward to the first flight with it . It looks to me like GJC has made you the main go to guy with this model since your build thread is posted on their site. That's a good thing maybe not for you but for then anyway lol . I hope they know how valuable you are
thanks again jimmy

Here's the laundry list:
Brake function doesn't work
Gear door delay for sequencing don't work
Wing attachment doesn't hold tight on wing tube
got work to do.... Dang it!!!!
