Global JetClub Mig 15 arrives
In a surprising week of surprises, my GJC Mig 15 arrived today. The scheme is one I found on the interweb.
Model is 1720mm span, approx 1/6th scale it would suit a P-100RX or P-80SE turbine thrust class.
Fuselage comes in two parts and it is only pushed together in these shots-actual fit on all joints is really good and Mike should be proud of what the factory is achieving.
Quality is really good, very happy with the finish and detail, the model features airbrakes, split flaps etc. Few items short of the complete aeroplane but I'm already looking forward to attacking this project.
Big thank you to my rep Andy Bascombe for getting this to me.

I have been watching this jet for some time and wondering when it was going to be ready. Do you think a 120 would fit ok or is it really a P70-100 size fit. Mike has said the dry weight should be around 22-25lbs?? what is the actual wing and fuse length?? It is about the same size as the bvm mig i believe.
Thanks,

Dave, looks very nice and good details. Do you have the retracts yet and how do they look? This can be a problem area for Mig15's, especially the mains. Also, can you take a few photos with the hatches off so we can see the internal arrangement.
Thanks

Guys. Its smaller than the CARF one, but I think around the same size as BV's. Here is a shot with a spare P-120SX dropped in for size.
Yes, gear is in and looks good, I know Mike and the team have been working hard on the gear and it was the main delay on the project which was developed in house. I'm only short of things like a tailpipe, so as soon as I have my DerJet Cogar clear of the bench its the next project, which I also hope to have flying at JP in September. The P100RX would be a perfect turbine, ligher the better.
Really not sure about final weight, its difficult to judge at this stage, but we all know the Mig 15 is a great flying aeroplane.

Hi Dave, lovely looking airplane, like the colour scheme, will look great in the air, never did like the "Tiger" schemes, this is more subtle. Whose kit is this one that Mike has done, is it a JL etc.?

Hi Dave, sorry, didn't know that GJC were producing their own kits, I have only seen the GJC upgraded kits that are originally manufactured by i.e. JL, FEB, and FEJ, so being Mikes own produced kit it will be blooming good.

BTW, I may be wrong, but I do not believe that Global Jet Club deals with FEJ any longer...

No problem, they are now working on their own projects as this.
Bob
Mig is very well done, more I look at it the more details I notice

RE: Global JetClub Mig 15 arrives
Hi Dave/Bob that's really good, seeing as mike and his team customised and built other manufacturers kits, and had to rectify all the problems associated with them, Mike's aircraft should be problem free and good quality, as he's been there and worn the Tee shirt! will make a change to see some decent quality kits on the market after reading lots of horror stories and lost models due to some other manufacturers sloppy workmanship and under engineered offerings.

Hi Dave,
Waiting for mine to arrive, yours looks very good and glad to hear you are very positive of the quality .... cant wait to get mine ...
Btw, you mentioned that you are waiting for the thrust tube, is there no thrust tube included? or do you just want to have another one?
Here is mine ...
Cheers,
Mick

RE: Global JetClub Mig 15 arrives
Hi all,
Thank you for the positive comments on this new MIG15 and patience from the first batch of customers.
There are a lot of myth about this plane, but I can clarify some of them.
1. Designer of this MiG15. The initial designer is Dorian Anderson of California. He built models for Hollywood movies, including Iron Eagles, Top Gun, etc. He made the original plug for us based on the accurate hand by hand measurement of the MIG15s stationed at Chino Airport, California, USA.
2. Our GJC engineering team then made the molds from this plug after adding scale details, rivets, panel lines, landing gears etc. of an actual MIG15 in a Chinese aviation park.
3. The plane is not made by Feibao. It's made by our team workers in house. We build it along side with other upgraded kits from other factories. We don't have big team so the quantity is limited. We have no plan to compete with our other brands. We just want to fill in the void for a quality plane.
4. The quality is set at a notch above all other planes we carry, so we are not in the same leagues to compete with. We will try to fit it in a higher quality "Pro" version category. We will have cost effective JL series, low to medium affordable, custom painted Feibao line, and then this upper class PRO series for our members to choose from.
5. building difficulty level: This plan is designed to be built by experienced builders. Skill level is intermediate skill. Not for beginners.
6. Scale and size: We try to make it as close to full scale as possible without sacrifice the weight for this class. We make it for P70-P100, because we believe that the P100, M80, Rabbit 17-22 lbs class turbine would be very popular. This plane is easy to carry and travel with, so it would be good for taking a very scale jet to many jet meets.
7. Special features -
We use Airex composite for wing construction after #10 unit.
two section fuselage with a removable engine mount that allow you to remove aft section for transportation and still have the turbine mounted on the forward section. Just like the full scale.
Detachable vertical fins and horizontal tails. All together you can fit this plane in a full size luggage.
Ball bearing wheels, built-in air brakes, live hinging flaps, co-axial hinging with carbon rods, etc.
Robart retract air cylidners (no more leaking issues), Airpower air brake air cylinders, and Spark's hypodermic air cylinders for doors. We believe that combining the best parts from best suppliers create the most reliable planes.
8. We will roll out an EDF version of it next year after we have completely tested this plane in turbine. The turbine prototypes has been successfully tested and flown.
I guess you would have to see it in person to judge the overall quality of this plane, so I won't sound like trying to advertise it too much. I welcome any feedback and comments on this plane.
Good luck Dave, Hope you have an enjoyable built and flying.
Regards,
Mike

Sorry, missed this earlier. The tail pipe is shipping separately as it was not ready and Mike would like the model ready for JP. Yes, kit comes with tanks and tailpipe
Ah your scheme is as my Alfa EDF Mig...loved that too

RE: Global JetClub Mig 15 arrives
So looks like the price is $3040 or £2000 with all the bits and bobs delivered. Lot better price than BV's version
