two A123 cells pack in parallel?

I plan on powering my next small jet using two A123 2 cell packs and two switches into the receiver. Is this OK? In the o;d days I used two five cell nicads set up this way for years, not sure if it will work if one cell goes bad.

Have been doing this since 123s came out. Two packs, at two switches two ports. Simple, effective. Use a data logger and turn on switch one, check voltage, turn switch two,then turn off switch one check voltage on switch two. then turn switch one back on and you are in good hands. Scotty

Use the exact same set-up on 2 jets. Works perfectly. Even if one cell in one pack were to instantly fail, the drain rate from the other pack would take a while to bring the other pack down.

The only caveat that I am aware of is not unique to 123's. Most switches don't open BOTH the ground and positive wires, and this can cause charging issues when trying to charge both batts on one time.
I use a Batt Share HD to isolate the batts, and to keep one from dragging the other down should a cell fry.

I am using the pro-tronik dual battery input circuit, Ref 78606 , price 11 euros. Its a small unit that you just plug your two x a123 packs into and from there into the receiver it automatically changes from one pack to the other if the voltage drops too low. google a2pro-online.com to find Cheers
