Classic Flash Tips?
#31

Congratulations Smitty!!!
as work continued this afternoon on the redoing of the #6 Blue Angel Flash, i have discovered the most likely cause of the stab blanking mentioned earlier in this thread......the elevator servos have 3D control horns on them a mile long, at that length, the travel adjust would of had to have been dialed down so low there was no stick resolution and the servo was at a huge mechanical disadvantage. will be replacing these with JR HD horns a little later tonight, pic 2 is of my Jolly Roger Flash with the JR HD horns, it's never blanked at any speed and it's flown with a Titan SE.

]. Fortunately, none were jets, and none of the paint reached my vehicle which was parked in there........ Guess where my spray paint is stored now!!

Wayne, for some reason the inside of the tail was sprayed silver (servo/wire/connector included) and then aluminum tape and ceramic blanket over that, then the bellmouth and engine bay were sprayed with the same paint, unless two cans were dropped that's not likely how this one got sprayed

Thanks KC! This is gonna be a fun bird - really surprised how the Rabbit drives it around. Never thought I'd shelf the Bobcat but at nearly 400 flights on her, just need something different for my sport ride.

i absolutely love the Flash, i didn't want to sell mine but the guy offered me too much $$$ and i had to let it go. 135 flights and not a scratch on it, he tore a wing tip tank off, split the nose open and broke the nose retract on his first flight [&o]
i got it back early yesterday morning and spent all day, all last night and most of today repairing it and have everything but the nose retract fixed and it's in the mail on its way to me so she'll be flyable again soon. the tip tank was a PITA, but got it all glassed back on, bondo'd up and sprayed, you can't even tell it other then the paint change. it's different but looks good and the owner loves it and that's what counts. both tip tanks are now black as is the nose.

I recognized the sprayed look...mine was done by sheer stupidity......This one may be the result of serious overbuild........

Now I have this image of you dancing around your shop like somebody's shootin' bullets at your feet while you try to corral the pinwheeling paint can. [:@]

Hey, what size tires are people using on the Flash? Ours are pretty worn and I can't tell if they were 3.25 or 3.5 or something different on the mains?
Thx...
