Is there an indestructible jet?
I've heard the bvm bobcat can take anything. Is this true? ie can you fly at top speed and give full throw inputs without the wings coming off? I know its possible with the materials we have, just wondering if its been done.
And yes, its a sunday morning and I'm bored waiting for baby to wake up so I can feed him...

RE: Is there an indestructible jet?
Mike, I am not sure about the Bobcat....it's BVM so the quality is there but IMO BV's stuff is fragile. We have a bandit and it's a good thing my son flys it and not me, I would have torn the gear out of it a long time ago. I have also seen a bandit have a stab depart in a high G turn, it was 160 powered (overall bad decision anyway).
Addison Clark has a Bobcat that he flys the living' crap out of and it appears fine, but again he is a very smooth pilot!
For my money, and in my personal experience, the Comp ARF Flash is about as indestructible as you can get. I have planted my flash on the runway time after time and she just taxis back to the pits ( that was when I first starting flying her, I have the landings nailed now). I routinely make max power passes finishing with a 180 degree turn by pulling full elevator and she just laughs at it. It has been put down twice due to flame outs. The first was zero damage, the second requires some minor repair and paint work. I have a buddy that has had his in three times due to flame outs, no damage besides some paint. All five were gear up.
I have built 4 of them and the dollar to value ratio is off scale high, they fly great (classic flash, the ultra flys better), and they are as tough as an airframe you can get.

RE: Is there an indestructible jet?
If any of you were at Dixie Jets this year you would have seen Chad PLANT his flash HARD! He hit so hard that all 3 gear were snapped off....this is Dreamworks pro-link gear. He snapped the trunnion on one main and the strut on the other. The mount rails did not whimper! The ONLY damage to the wing was the retract covers (fiberglass plate the covers the retract and holds the wing servos). They got gashed when the struts departed the wing....

Most amazing flying I've seen was Schui flying an Ultra Bandit at JetPower 2010. Couldn't believe the violent turns the model could take. I was zoomed out and I STILL couldn't keep up with the direction changes. I couldn't keep the camera steady toward the end of the flight because I was laughing so much.
Think I heard that it had a specially reinforced wing joiner so it could take the punishment.
This one flight was the one moment of inspiration I needed to start flying turbines next year. Can't wait.

+1 on the Ultra Flash!!!! Sherman tank strong and flys on rails!!! All day long as good as a bandit for half the cha Ching!! I've had both and would never subject the B to the G loads I would my UF. Don't get me wrong,,, bandits fly great !!! Just nowhere near as strong as the UF.

Mike, to answer your question, the bobcat will take anything you throw at it in the air. The wings will not come off , the wing tube will bend before the wing fails! Just PM Wojtek and ask him for some Bobcat videos from when he had the big engine on it. While I am not recomending you try this at home the plane is solid and strong in all the right places.

Agree on the Hotspot with foam wings.. specially with some mods! however my impression too is that the Flash can take as more G´s as anyone without cracking or breaking things up.
