Default Finished!

Finally! It flew first in 2005, got inspired by Greg's thread recently.

Nice!

No snow where you are yet, or are the pictures a few weeks/months old?

Pictures taken today, slow winter so far. Mild westerly STRONG winds recently.
Colors are painted with acrylic base and 2k clear coat.
The FliteMetal aluminum tested my motivation, especially the sanding part. But I learned how to polish!!

Did you pre-sand the FM to account for the panel lines or did you fill those before applying FM?
I agree about the sanding, it takes a lot of time but FM just doesn't look right without it or if it's not done enough to remove the orange peel look.

smchale, I sanded the FM on the model. The panel lines were not altered, just matted carefully with a toothpick inside the paper(400)

Thanks for positive posts!

Greg,

Are we going to get to see your Hun at Ky Jets?

All of these F-100 pictures are making me want to build another one... Perhaps in a few years when I have the $'s and time...

Hi Bob, I haven't even given it any thought as it is still almost 7 months away. Also from the sounds of it there aren't any more hotels avalible for the event. Last i saw it was a 30mile drive to the next closest hotel and i'm not about to put an extra 60 miles a day of driving to get to and from a hotel. I will be at florida jets though.

Very nice I love the metal finish on an F-100. Just doesnt look right without it. Here is mine. Its long gone now but would do another in a heartbeat. Great job on yours. Im thinking of making the trip to KY jets this year.

Thanks Hooker53 and WBG
That "Minute Men" scheme looks great too! I chose the Thunderbrds primarily for the (hopefully) better visibility. Working on the ferry tanks for more area as well.
