Default Maffs pilots got into operating room :-)

Hi guys

They looked very bad... didn't even moved, so brought them to life

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLka-...4&feature=plcp

Those pilots are really light. Wish their price was by the weight. Not an easy mod...very time consuming.

Best regards

Nuno

Hi guys

Thanks for posting

Those are 1/5 MaffCaf pilots. They are not the blue box pilots.

They are tissue made, so there is not a structure to fix the squeleton and servos. I have not yet purchased the polulu board, so the video you see is using regular 3 channel operation

Sorry for the low resolution

Best regards

nuno

Hi

I finally got my Pololu boards, but having a hard time to program it.

Can any one know how to strat a sequence from the TX. Do I use this?

The RX line is used to receive non-inverted TTL (0–5 V) serial bytes, such as those from microcontroller UARTs. These bytes can either be serial commands for the Maestro, arbitrary bytes to send back to the computer via the USB connection, or both. For more information about the Maestro’s serial interface, see Section 5.a. Note that the Maestro will probably be able to receive 3.3V TTL serial bytes, but it is not guaranteed to read 3.3V as high on the RX pin, so you should boost 3.3V TTL serial signals to above 4V if you want to ensure reliable operation.

Regards

Nuno

Nuno which model Pololu did you get? I know how to record from a TX on the basic stamp but I have not tried it yet on the Pololu.

woj has one he might chime in soon.

Don't give up, these things take on a whole new dimension when they move on their own and are not tied slavishy to the rudder or something.

you can use this ... it allows you to switch between TX control and the automated sequence programed into the controller board .. if you just want to turn it off, don't run any channels but the switch channel into the mux ..

Thanks Woj

Isn't possible to start the sequence only with the Maestro board using the TTL serial input (RX pin)?

Is there any other way? What about a switch? I really don´t want to order another board. I have to order from abroad and it will take a long time[]

it should be able to just run on power on ... you could use a mini relay operated by the Rx to trip a relay ...
